The Story of the Imperial City-Plum Blossoms in Meizhuang

Speaking of "Meizhuang", everyone in Laohetao (Daqiao Village in Beiliu Town, and Fanhe Hetao in Runcheng Town) knows that this "Meizhuang" does not exist at all. The former site of "Meizhuang" used to be a terraced field of Wang Xing, with east-west direction and abundant sunshine. Later, people moved away, and Chen Lin, the second ancestor of Chen, made land, and planted several plum blossoms next to the kiln, named "Meizhuang".

Since then, Chen Lin has helped a coal mine manage accounts, and the days are getting better and better. Later, my younger brother Chen built Meizhuang into a beautiful garden.

This Chen Jicheng inherited the family style of helping the weak and helping the poor from his ancestors, and followed his brother's example. After becoming the seventh county magistrate in Wu 'an County, Hebei Province, he became a clean official and was praised as "Chen Qingtian" by the local people.

One spring and March, Chen went home to visit relatives. He was very sorry to see that since he left, most plum blossoms had dried up and died because no one took care of them. He took advantage of planting trees in spring to transplant dozens of apricot trees.

According to the festival, "Apricot Rain in March" means that the apricot flowers gradually wither in March, making it difficult to transplant. However, Chen is so keen on planting trees that he doesn't listen to people's opinions. He just watered the soil carefully and planted dozens of apricot trees. Moreover, on the apricot tree that has just survived, white apricot blossoms have been opened in dribs and drabs, which has become a much-told story for a while.

As a result, Chen Yi was out of control, planting peach trees, pear trees and persimmon trees in the garden, and moving flowers such as winter jasmine, peony flowers, Chinese rose flowers and chrysanthemum flowers. In addition, a fish pond was dug in the garden to attract cool Fanhe water and put in fresh fish, which really turned a small mountain village garden into a "paradise".

Since then, every spring in March, peaches are red and apricots are white, bees are flying, butterflies are flying, and the morning glow rises from the top of Fan Mountain, reflecting the gorgeous apricot blossoms in Meizhuang, attracting people from four townships and eight villages to watch. Since then, "Mei Zhuang Mei Hua" has become a major landscape.
