What is the origin of "Golden Lotus"?

Some people say that Pan Fei, who was in a daze in the Southern Dynasties, walked barefoot on the gold foil lotus, just like "growing lotus step by step", but this does not mean Pan Fei's feet. It is also said that Ren Niang was named "Golden Lotus" after dancing on the lotus stage in the Five Dynasties, and this does not refer to Ren Niang's feet.

At present, there is a consistent view that "Golden Lotus" originated from "Lotus" in Buddhist culture. Taking "Lian" as the name of women's football is a good name. In Buddhist art, most bodhisattvas stand barefoot on the lotus, which may also be an important reason why the lotus is associated with women's feet.

But it is called "Golden Lotus" mainly because of the traditional language habits of China people. People like to decorate precious or beautiful things with the word "gold". Calling a woman's feet "golden lotus" is a good name. Later, the folk custom changed to "golden lotus" within three inches, "silver lotus" within four inches and "iron lotus" above four inches. Therefore, the golden lotus has become synonymous with feet.
