I love the fragrance of flowers the most, and my heart is filled with joy all the way|Self-driving in Hokkaido
I am addicted to summer in Hokkaido.
This is my third time going to Hokkaido in summer. Different from the previous two times, this is a self-driving tour. From Daonan to Daoyang and then to Daodong, I enjoyed the pleasure of flying freely along the way, and the different scenery that made me addicted: modern cities and retro-style ports, romantic colorful flower fields, and healing patchwork gardens. The roads, the paradise hidden in the mountains and forests, the magnificent coastline, etc., bring us surprises every day.
The most romantic love letter in Hokkaido - Otaru
Because of "Love Letter", Otaru has always been a must-visit place in my Hokkaido itinerary. Although we did not arrive during the pure white season, the gentleness and tranquility of Otaru still left a deep impression on our hearts.
Otaru Funamizaka Funamizaka
Funamizaka is a long steep slope in Otaru and is a classic scene in "Love Letter". Standing high on the ramp, you can see the harbor and sea in the distance. In winter, the roofs on both sides of the road are piled with snow, and the whole world seems to be left with only pure white and dark blue, and the scenery is even more beautiful.
Note: When taking photos and checking in, please pay attention to the passing vehicles and do not affect the traffic.
Otaru Canal
The Otaru Canal is the only canal in Hokkaido. It is the same age as the development history of Hokkaido, and it is also more than 120 years old. On one side of the canal is an old brick and stone warehouse, with kerosene street lamps still remaining next to it. Nowadays, most of them have been transformed into various handicraft shops.
There are often artists painting/performing on the roadside, and some are selling their paintings. Today's Otaru Canal has a rich artistic atmosphere, attracting many artistic young people from afar to check in.
The old man is painting, and his works are placed next to him.
My favorite flower scent - Tomita Farm
In July in Hokkaido, the most eye-catching place must be Tomita Farm. Tomita Farm’s iconic colorful flower fields are the most beautiful business card of Hokkaido in summer.
We arrived here in mid-July, when the lavender is at its most beautiful. When we drove into the Furano area, the light fragrance of lavender penetrated into our car with the air. The sunshine shines generously on the hills, on the flower fields, on the quiet and clean small villages, and on us.
We were walking among the flower fields, and the flowers all around were in full bloom and shining dazzlingly. Although it is already midsummer, the wind in Hokkaido is as comfortable as the spring breeze. There are many tourists here, but you still feel that the time spent here is full of peace and tranquility.
No tickets are required for cherry blossom viewing at Farm Tomita, but the many varieties of products inside will make you reluctant to move away. When no one noticed, Liu Bao ran to the window selling ice cream, looked up and drooled at the ice creams handed out from the window. We quickly picked her up and queued up to buy it. The faint lavender fragrance blended into the pure Hokkaido milk ice cream, tsk tsk. . . There are also various lavender products, the quality is super good, the price is not higher than elsewhere, and the wallet is unknowingly emptied.
The poetry of summer - Biei
Biei is a romantic and poetic place in all seasons.
I still remember the first time I walked in the fields of Biei many years ago. I secretly made a wish in my heart that I would take a walk here with the person I love the most. Finally, on this summer afternoon, the original vow came true.
While Liu Bao was sleeping, Mr. Mai and I parked the car on the side of the field. The two of them just held hands and watched the wind blowing the wheat waves, feeling the cool summer breeze blowing by. No need to say anything, no need to do anything, it is romantic enough.
In Biei, I also came across a stall selling cherries on the roadside. The foodie couldn't walk anymore. A box of cherries costs 500 yen, which is very cheap even compared to domestic prices. This is the most delicious cherry I have ever tasted, bar none!
A paradise hidden in the wilderness - Hoshino Resorts
Before arriving at Hoshino Resorts, my impression of it was still that of Hu Ge and Huo Jianhua shooting here a few years ago. A photo shoot in the snow that made countless girls drool. The image of two handsome guys holding cups of coffee in the snow with warm smiles is still firmly etched in my mind.
Is Hoshino Resorts equally charming in summer? I was still thinking about this as the car sped through the wilderness toward the resort. As soon as I drove into the resort, I fell in love with this place. Everything here is the reason why this resort, which is not connected to the city at all and is surrounded by wilderness, can be full all year round!
In addition to excellent accommodation conditions, the resort also has many excellent facilities. Even if it is the only destination in Hokkaido, it is guaranteed to be a very fulfilling and interesting week.
Embrace nature in the lawn: The resort has a very large open grassland. The mountains in the distance are covered with green, and the space is beautiful. There are horse farms, cattle pens, and sheep pens on the grassland for children to get close contact and feed; there are also some sofas/straw beds for resting and other rest facilities that are integrated with nature; even on the grass The paved paths are made of sawdust. Walking on them on rainy days can prevent your shoes from getting muddy.
Enjoy delicious food in the fairy-tale forest restaurant:
The large floor-to-ceiling windows of the forest restaurant are filled with large pine trees that are hundreds of years old.
While satisfying the taste buds, the greenery as if you were in a forest also greatly satisfies your vision.
Living with Nature - The Water Church:
With the theme of "Living with Nature", the Water Church was designed by the famous architect Tadao Ando. There is a huge pure white cross on the pond in the center of the church, facing a huge glass wall of the church that is 15 meters long and 5 meters high. Between May and October, the glass is fully opened, allowing the church to blend in with nature. Since weddings are often held here during the day, free visits are usually arranged in the evening.
The beautiful highway that connects to the sky - Sutenji Road
The Sutenji Road located in Shari Town, Shiretoko Peninsula, is a 28-kilometer straight road. Due to the terrain, the road is undulating and upward. When viewed from the viewing point, the entire road looks like it leads to the sky, which is very spectacular.
Running wildly in the pure nature of Hokkaido is the long-awaited freedom and happiness, and it is also a good medicine for anxiety and depression. Although we encountered heavy fog, heavy rain and other extreme weather along the way, when the memories came back, these were all integrated into the beauty and tiny warmth encountered during the journey, becoming scorching and sparkling.
