There is a phenomenon that occurs in summer when there is heavy rain and wind. We once called a dragon, what happened to it? Why does it happen every year? On what day did it happen?
It’s been a long time since I answered a geographical question. I feel very friendly here, haha....
I remember that in April 2008, I went to Jiangxi by chance and stayed there. After a short period of time, it seems to be the third day of the third month of the lunar calendar. In Poyang County, according to your lunar calendar custom, it should be "passing the dragon". The so-called "passing the dragon" means that there will be a sudden violent storm that day. It was at this moment that Nanchang experienced a dragon crossing that evening. Around 6 p.m., the sky was dark and the clouds in the sky were like dragons. The wind was raging, and the dust and branches and leaves on the road were intertwined. Pedestrians on the road were deserted. And escape. Within 15 minutes of thunder and lightning, it started pouring with rain!
A local from Jiangxi also joked that he would use a knife to chop off a dragon's tail. The folklore meaning is that the dragon's tail will cause trouble if it passes by!
In fact, the cause of this phenomenon is the sudden storm caused by the intersection of warm and cold air. In April, the temperature gradually rises in southern China, and there are more days controlled by warm air. However, the cold air from the northwest will still move southward and affect South China at this time. When the cold air and warm air meet, stormy weather often occurs, and the clouds in the sky look a bit like legendary dragons.
I personally don’t think it’s the “tornado” weather mentioned above!
Hope this helps you!
