3. Topography
Tongzi County, Tongzi County is located in the junction of the mountainous area of northern Guizhou and the Sichuan Basin. Because of the complex tectonic system, strong tectonic movement, remarkable glaciation, and coexistence of dissolution and erosion, it has formed a unique landscape and belongs to Zhongshan Canyon area in northern Guizhou. The terrain of the county is high in the northeast and low in the southwest. Yanghenghe River, Songkan River and Tongzi River divide the county into three different geomorphic units. There are many landforms in the county, such as mountains, hills, mountain basins and river terraces. Moreover, karst is widely distributed, with rocky peaks, underground rivers and caves developed.
The average elevation of the county is1100m, the highest peak is Niujiaozhai, south of Bai Zhishan in Xishi Town, with an elevation of 2,227m, and the lowest point is the Yuguijiehe River in Podu Town, with an elevation of 3 10/0m and a relative elevation difference of1917m.
The mountains in Tongzi County are all branches of the Daloushan Mountains, which are northeast-southwest trending. Mengshan Mountain Range is a branch of Loushan Mountain Range. Its main vein runs from the middle section of Loushan Mountain Range to the middle of the county, then extends to the south and north, to Shiermaopo in the south and to Yaolongshan in the north. Liangfengya, the main vein, is southeast, which is the watershed of the county's north-south differentiation. Zhongshan and Bazi are shallow in the south and Zhongshan Canyon is deep in the north.
