Essays about miscellaneous memories of hometown
I have been away from my hometown for more than 20 years, but the landscape of my hometown always lingers in my mind. The mountains, rivers, ancestral halls, yellow kudzu trees, villages and streets are all intoxicating and beautiful pictures. , every time I think about it, I feel vividly and always want to record it with pen and ink. However, I am afraid that my talent and knowledge will be limited, that I will not be able to express myself in case of emergency, and that I will let down the good mountains and rivers, so I dare not start writing. But my hometown is indeed my root and my spiritual home. How can I forget it?
My hometown is Dazhu County in eastern Sichuan, with three mountains and two troughs. The three mountains are Mingyue Mountain, Tongluo Mountain, and Huaying Mountain. The county town of Zhuyang is between Huaying Mountain and Tongluo Mountain. My home is between Tongluo Mountain and Mingyue Mountain. The three mountains are not high, with the highest altitude being more than a thousand meters, but the trees are lush and the birds are singing. Whether it's spring or winter, the mountains are always green or ink-colored. There are also some precious trees on the mountain, but most of them are fragrant wild flowers. For example, the jasmine flowers that bloom in spring are really beautiful, golden yellow, with small flowers, swaying in the wind, usually around the beginning of spring. open. When I was a child, I read Feng Deying's novel "Jinhua", which describes the revolutionary struggle in the Jiaodong base area during the War of Liberation, and I was deeply moved. My mother said that we also have spring flowers here, and I was ecstatic. One year, a few friends and I went to Mingyue Mountain to collect firewood. As soon as they went up the mountain, they were looking around. After a while, there was a big bundle of firewood, but I was looking there. What was I looking at? It turned out that I was looking at the wild flowers all over the mountains and ridges, and my friends all came back with a full load, but I only had a small piece of wood, which they chopped for me. We went there in April and May, and the mountains and plains were filled with azaleas, which are also called azaleas. There is a line in "Sparkling Red Star" that says, "The mountains are covered with azaleas." I feel the same way.
The rivers in my hometown are not big. There are two rivers that are very impressive, one is called Baishui River and the other is Tongluo River. Baishui River is a little further away from my home, about ten or twenty miles, and closer to my grandparents' home. There is an ancient castle called Huangcheng Village by Baishui River, and my grandparents live at the foot of the village. Huangcheng Walled City rises up in the hills, surrounded by cliffs, two to three hundred meters high. The terrain is very dangerous. It was a relatively large feudal fortress in eastern Sichuan from the early years of the Republic of China to the early years of liberation. There were many dignitaries on it, who wanted to avoid Bandits come to live here, and its layout is no less than that of a county town. There is a tomb couplet saying that its Feng Shui is very good, and it is described like this - "The air is connected to the beauty of Huangcheng, and the water is flowing to welcome it." This shows the position of Huangcheng Village and Baishui River in the hearts of the hometown people. The Tongluo River is right in front of my house. There is a reservoir there called Tongxin Reservoir. The water surface is large and open. There are many small islands in the reservoir. There is Tiaodeng across from the Tongluo River. The water below is gurgling and there are countless fish swimming in the river. There are a lot of bamboo grass and reeds beside it, as well as a mill house and a waterwheel. Every time I go to Tongluo Mountain with my father and brother to collect firewood and coal, we pass by this river and this reservoir. Every time I see the scenery here, I never want to leave. The downstream of Tongluo River is Huangquetan, which is the river in front of my grandparents' house. The water is green and cool, and there are also small boats. Sometimes the water rises. One year, my brother, sister and I encountered high water when we went to my grandparents' house. We took the risk and passed by, which is still very interesting to this day.
Our family lives in an ancestral hall, called the Yuan Family Ancestral Hall. The main hall is majestic and tall, with stone inscriptions on both sides of the couplet: "The nobles of the fourth generation of the Eastern Han Dynasty and the three nobles are called the clan with their hairpins. The descendants of Xichuan will live forever in the clouds." Steam the beans and taste them. "This is the school of the whole village. My parents taught here. This was our childhood paradise." There are three yellow kudzu trees outside the ancestral hall. They are very big and thick, and only three or four people can hold them down. The leaves are very dense, and the pavilions are like canopies. Many people play under them all year round. At that time, we liked to play a game. It's called "killing the country", where a group of children fight with another group of children, running back and forth, often so tired that they are sweating profusely, and they don't win until they catch the other side's king. We grow up happily around the ancestral hall and the yellow kudzu tree every day.
The streets in my hometown are also very beautiful. They are called Zhoujiachang. At that time, there were three or four streets, two or three miles long, equivalent to some county towns. There was one every three days, and people came and went every day. , shoulder to shoulder, bustling with people.
There are seven or eight temples in Chang Town, including Guandi Temple, Zhangye Temple, Caishen Temple, Yaowang Temple, Zisheng Temple, Shansheng Palace, Yuwang Palace, Wanshou Palace, etc. Unfortunately, they were all used for other purposes after liberation. But his former glory can still be seen. For example, Shansheng Palace and Yuwang Palace were converted into Zhou Family Senior Primary School. The two main halls are very spacious, and there are gardens with lilacs and other vines. When I went to the school with my parents for meetings, I would stay there for a long time, watching. Those flowers, and listening to the sound of the music teacher’s organ is a real pleasure. Now more than 40 years have passed, and the landscape and characters of my hometown are still as clear as yesterday. In addition, the cold water jelly from my hometown is also delicious, and the Eastern Han Dynasty glutinous rice from our hometown is also a must. The Eastern Han Dynasty glutinous rice grains, formerly known as Dongliu glutinous rice grains, are soaked in Dongliu River water. They are sweet and delicious and have a mellow taste.
