Wang Du Yulan Sakura Wei Zi
The ancient magnolia in the Academy has a long-standing reputation. When the flowers bloom, the trees are crystal clear, like ice and snow. From a distance, it looks like a snow-capped mountain and Qiongdao, which is very beautiful and has great ornamental value.
Magnolia is appreciated in two places, North Magnolia Garden and South Magnolia Garden. The ancient magnolia in Xueyuan Temple Yitang is said to have been planted by Zen master Jialing in Qing Dynasty, or transplanted from the south with his coffin. The tree is over 300 years old.
Perhaps it is the superior geographical environment here that makes this ancient magnolia tree graceful, flowery, flowery and white in color. Its appearance, color and fragrance are the best in Beijing.
The two magnolia courtyards in the north and south are exactly where the teahouse Minghui Teahouse is located. Magnolia tea party is held here at the end of March and the beginning of April every year. Sitting under the ancient magnolia tree and drinking a pot of green tea with three or five friends is a rare relaxation and elegance for urbanites.
On the south side of Tianwang Temple, there is also a rare purple magnolia in China, which blooms at the same time as the ancient magnolia and can be enjoyed together.
On the south side of the North Bell Tower, a tall old tree is flourishing, and the pink flowers make me mistake it for peach blossom, but when I look closely, I find there are subtle gaps between the petals. This is cherry blossom. Flowers are pale pink, with small petals, but very delicate. The first time I saw beautiful cherry blossoms in an ancient temple in China, I was amazed!
To the west of North Yulan Park, there is also a Tokyo Sakura, which is blooming in front of the red wall.
Forsythia suspensa is very similar to Jasminum nudiflorum, and it is easy to be mistaken for it. At the back of Xueyuan Temple and around the stupa, many wild forsythia and magnolia are in full bloom at the same time. But few people are interested. The beautiful stone steps echo the ancient pagoda, rockery and Longwangtang from a distance, and bright forsythia flowers adorn them. Only the people on the scene can taste the carefree artistic conception.
Outside the North Magnolia Garden, there is a bauhinia in an inconspicuous position. If you look closely, the thin branches are covered with rose buds. On the east side of Tianwang Temple, the buds of elm leaf plum are also ready to go. Waiting for the pink peach blossoms and cherry blossoms to fall, and the rich plum blossoms and bauhinia flowers to bloom.
The year before last, there were more than a dozen begonia flowers on both sides of Ginkgo biloba. The flowering period of Begonia is in mid-April, but the buds have not yet grown, and the leaves are green, which makes people full of expectations.
At the end of March and the beginning of April: magnolia, forsythia and cherry blossoms.
Mid-early April: Begonia, Plum Blossom and Bauhinia.
