The origin of Korean names
1392, Li Chenggui overthrew the Koryo dynasty, became king and established the Korean dynasty. In order to win the support of the Ming Dynasty, Li Chenggui referred to the ancient name of North Korea and the place where Li Fu was an official-Huning, and sent envoys to ask Zhu Yuanzhang, the founder of the Ming Dynasty, to decide the country name. Zhu Yuanzhang thought that "Korea" was an ancient name and the origin of "Bright Asahi" was elegant, so he ruled that Korea was a new country name.
1On September 9, 948, Kim Il Sung, leader of the Workers' Party of Korea, adopted the name "Korea" when the northern half of the Korean Peninsula was founded, and named the country "the Democratic People of Korea * * * and the country".
