Du was a member of modern Shanghai green gang. 1902, Du entered the Huang Mansion, which was the main residence of green gang and Shanghai, and was responsible for running the casino "Gongxing Club" in the French Concession. 1In July, 925, Du Zai established "Sanxin Company" to specialize in opium transportation in the French Concession.

In April, Du, Huang, organized the China Progressive Association. From 65438 to 0929, Du was appointed to the Guangdong Bureau, which was the highest position of China people in the French Concession. From 65438 to 0929, Du founded Zhonghui Bank and set foot in Shanghai's financial industry.

Du was buried at the foot of Dajian Mountain in Xizhi Town, Taipei County (now Xizhi District, New Taipei City) from/KLOC-0 to June, 952. The cemetery faces Shanghai in the southeast and northwest, behind Xiufeng Primary School.

Chiang Kai-shek inscribed "Yi Jie Zhao Yu" in the cemetery. There used to be a memorial arch in the cemetery with the inscription "Yu Wen Zhang Yong" by Zhang Qun. Later, Xiufeng Primary School was established, the archway was demolished and the inscription was embedded in the cemetery. Du's tomb is accompanied by his wife Yao Jiaxiang's tomb.
