Development history of scales
Manual scales have a long history in China. There are also many legends. These are two of them. 1 According to folklore, the wooden steelyard was invented by Luban. According to the six stars of Beidou and Nandou, 13 stars are carved on the steelyard, and 13 is regarded as one catty. After Qin Shihuang unified the six countries, he added "Fu Lushou" three stars, which was exactly sixteen stars, and changed a catty to 16 Liang, sending letters with unified measurement; Another statement was put forward by Fan Li, who was inspired by the difficulties of a fishmonger. He first used a bamboo pole to release water pipes and fish at the same time, and invented it by using the lever principle. Later, he revised it, and according to the Beidou and the six stars in Nan Dou, he carved 13 stars on the scale, which was regarded as one catty. But because some businesses are short of two pounds, they add "Fulu". It was not until 1950s that the country implemented the reform of units of measurement and changed the unified weighing system to 10 jinliang. The manufacturing technology of Hanzhong manual steelyard was introduced from Wuhan, an important industrial and commercial city at the intersection of Hanshui River and Yangtze River, under the special background of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression more than 70 years ago. In modern China, the three towns in Wuhan are famous for their industrial and commercial economy and transportation, and the manual weighing industry is even more famous.
