Breakfast lovers must not miss these 10 must-eat breakfasts in Taipei

Breakfast lovers definitely can’t miss these 10 must-eat breakfast restaurants in Taipei. In the past year, I’ve probably eaten at more breakfast restaurants in Taipei than the average Taipei person. I’ve basically eaten everything I should, and I’ve had some terrible encounters along the way. There are popular check-in restaurants (usually I am cheating if I don’t write an article to recommend them XD), and of course there are also favorite breakfast restaurants that I eat again and again. You may find that the must-eat breakfasts I choose are relatively simple. Maybe after eating very flashy and topical breakfasts, I still feel that plain ones are the most reliable and long-lasting.

As a Hong Konger who loves Taiwan, I successfully achieved the goal of going to Taiwan once a month last year. Of course, I had breakfast every day in the process, and I also took the opportunity to explore Taipei’s breakfast restaurants to share with you. In the past year, I have probably eaten at more breakfast restaurants in Taipei than the average person in Taipei. I have basically eaten all the places I should eat, and I have encountered some very popular check-in restaurants (usually I am fooled if I don’t write an article to recommend them XD). Of course There is also a favorite breakfast restaurant where you can eat again and again. You may find that the must-eat breakfasts I selected in 2019 are relatively simple in taste. Maybe after eating very flashy and topical breakfasts, I still feel that plain ones are the most reliable and long-lasting. (1) Zhenfang: Cheese Cheese Eggs. Since I had it once a few years ago, I have been going to Zhenfang almost every time I go to Taipei recently. Their cheese cheese eggs are really timeless and delicious! The cheese cheese egg means two kinds of cheese, one of which is sandwiched between eggs. It is so generous that it will squeeze out, and the ratio with toast is nearly 1:1, so you will not find out that there are no eggs at the end of the meal. The benefits of grilling the peeled square buns are that every detail is taken care of and makes people feel satisfied. Every time I go there, I only eat cheese cheese eggs, and I have never eaten any other toast XD. As for the egg cake and black tea milk, they are too old-fashioned and I don't particularly like them. Zhenfang now has three branches! You don’t have to worry about queuing up to have breakfast, which is great. The decoration of Minsheng store is very literary and can be taken pictures. When I went there last time, there was a handsome guy and a cute dog sitting next to me. I had a great time having breakfast.

Every time There are long queues on holidays, so I try to avoid going on weekdays, and I even wake up a little earlier to avoid having to wait for a long time. Then nine out of ten times when I wanted to go out to eat, it was closed on a Monday, so the fate was not so good XD. When I went to eat recently, I found that the store has added seats, and there is a place where you can stand up to eat. The decoration is also colorful and unique, which is suitable for taking check-in photos and so on. There are plenty of vegetarian options here, and there is also a "lacto-ovo-vegetarian series" on the menu, with creative combinations of salty and sweet foods. I had eaten the taro cake full of mashed taro before, and when I saw the rainbow hot pressed toast, I wanted to order one to take a photo. Please note that it tastes oily, but it tastes good. I don't think the egg pancake is particularly outstanding, but the mushroom egg pancake with black truffle is quite impressive.

(3) Fengda Coffee: If you read travel books before breakfast, you will definitely introduce Fengda Coffee. It seems to be ordinary, and if you don’t drink coffee, you won’t particularly want to eat it. In recent years, I started drinking coffee, and I went to eat it once out of curiosity. I found that this breakfast combination is quite good. But the key point is the environment and atmosphere. The store has the feeling of an old coffee shop in Kyoto. In addition to tourists, there are also elderly people who come to eat. It makes you feel like you have stepped back in time. There is only one kind of breakfast provided by Fengda Coffee. Normally there is ham, but since I don’t eat meat, I opted for ham.

You can choose how to cook the eggs, just like a tea restaurant in Hong Kong, and the thick toast tastes good too. There is a South American coffee shop next to Fengda Coffee. The breakfast is the same. The main difference is the cup of coffee. Depending on which one you prefer, I think Fengda’s coffee tastes better. For a detailed comparison, please refer to this article: Recovering the beauty of simplicity. Fengda Coffee & South American Coffee. Basically, you don’t have to queue up to have breakfast here, but if you are a big fan, it is recommended to go early. In addition to having breakfast, you can also buy coffee beans and try the pastries outside.

After eating them for so many years, I still recommend LOCO FOOD. Their iron pot egg rolls are indeed the crispiest, and the combinations are satisfying. If you don’t eat meat, my first choice is golden hash browns. I don’t have to explain, the egg pancakes with hash browns on the top are really crazy and delicious! But it’s just a bit hotter. If you want to be healthier, you can also eat king oyster cheese mushrooms. This is also a very popular breakfast restaurant in Taipei, so there are many people going there, and sometimes you have to wait for a table. It is recommended to choose an earlier time. As for drinks, in addition to coffee and milk tea, there are also juices to choose from, which is great for supplementing vitamin C.

Porridge and side dishes are one of them, such as this one opposite Yongle Market. After eating, you can also visit Dadaocheng. In addition to porridge and side dishes, there are actually many other traditional old shops around Yongle Market. If you are interested, you can eat here and there. Traditional porridge and side dishes are all served in a self-service format. When you see something on the table that you want to eat, just tell the aunt to choose whether to eat rice or porridge, and then pay the bill after eating. This restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating, and it is right outside the road facing the market entrance. If you don’t know, Yongle Market is a cloth market, and friends who make handicrafts will go in to buy goods.

Yongle Market Porridge and Side Dishes Address: Opposite Yongle Market (No. 20, Lane 233, Nanjing West Road) Business hours: 06:00 - 12:00 (Closed on Sundays) (6) Chongqing Soy Milk: Fried Egg Pancakes When it comes to classic Taiwanese flavors, we have to mention "fried egg pancakes", which are not fried eggs, but egg pancakes deep-fried in a wok with oil. Usually, the egg pancakes at breakfast restaurants are usually fried on an iron plate. There are only two or three old restaurants in Taipei where they are fried. The ones I have tried are Chongqing Doujiu and Jinjin Doujiu. The difference between these two is whether it is Caifu or Chives. It depends on which one you like to eat. I prefer Chongqing Soy Milk Caifu. The omelet crust of the fried egg pancakes is freshly made. You can see the master pressing each piece of dough into thin slices and then throwing the whole piece into the oil pan for frying. When the egg skin is almost fried, add the eggs to the pan and roll the last two together with the side dishes. After the pan is heated, wait for a while before serving. It tastes super crispy and has a completely different flavor from the pan-fried cake. If you haven’t tried it before, you should definitely give it a try. These two omelet restaurants are quite famous. You may have to wait longer on holidays, but you don’t need to worry much on weekdays. However, old shops like this are close to the entrance of the temple and are not accessible by the MRT, so remember to plan your itinerary.

I think it’s so interesting to have a shop that specializes in scones, and their scones are really delicious. Taiwanese people call it scone, which is what Hong Kong people call English waffles, and Scones is also called it. The most common thing to eat is High Tea. If you go to the UK, where it originated, you will add cream and cranberry jam. Together with the buttery flavor of the scone, it is the best in the world. Quietly Good Food used to be mainly take-out. If I lived in Taipei, I would buy it very often and then go home for breakfast.

But it’s hard to bring back the connections to Hong Kong when you come here. You can choose the Hangzhou South store or studio that offers dine-in service. Remember to check the business hours yourself. The taste of the scones in the store changes every day, whichever you see on site. There are salty and sweet options to choose from, and each one looks appealing. You can also choose a set meal that comes with jam when eating scones.

Fan page: :facebook./ciaociaogoodfood/ (8) Fuwanghao Teppanyaki Toast: Teppanyaki Toast If you go to Taiwan, you still have to eat egg pancakes. Let me introduce another one Delicious sizzling egg pancakes for you. The biggest feature of Fuwanghao Teppanyaki Toast is the open kitchen. You can see the entire production process up close, and you can even feel the sizzling heat. You can pass the time with a little extravagance while waiting for your meal. The signature of the store is actually the hand-made iron toast, and the toppings are quite novel and unique. You can try it if you are interested. But because I like to eat egg pancakes, I usually eat egg pancakes (or egg rolls). The egg pancake skin here is a bit like scallion pancake, it tastes thicker and has a burst of scallion aroma. There are not many vegetarian options, but there are one or two that you can eat. When I first ate there, they only had the Fuxing store, but now I can find it in the food courts of Taipei Station and several large shopping malls. It’s quite convenient if you want to eat.

Cheese, Egg and Scallion Burrito Fuwang Hao Fuxing Store Address: No. 133-1, Section 1, Fuxing South Road, Taipei City Tel: +886-02-27715736 Business hours: 07:00-16:00 (Monday to Thursday), 07:00-19:00 (Friday to Sunday) Fan page: :facebook./fullwant/ Official website: :fullwant./ (9) UZNA OMOM Apricot Waffle House: Waffle breakfast general waffle shop The opening hours are relatively late. If you get up early and want to eat waffles, or want to avoid the crowds, Xingtao Waffle House can help you. Their Shidai store and Tianmu store provide breakfast as early as 07:00 Open at 30, it is very suitable for people with morning light. Another advantage of eating waffles during breakfast time is that the prices are relatively favorable. You can view the menu here. There are five main options to choose from. They all look delicious and the portions are not too excessive. Xingtao Waffle House’s most famous specialty is its extra-thick waffles, but I think regular waffles are also pretty good. The environment of the Times Store is in a gorgeous palace style, so it’s quite comfortable to have breakfast without crowds.

(10) Sprout Chuya: The last vegetarian brunch must include a vegetarian breakfast. Although this shop is a bit far away from Tianmu, the food is carefully made and delicious, especially the handmade bread made by the shop itself. Sprout's brunch is available on weekdays and holidays, with slightly different hours. You can basically eat it from 08:30. The meals range from classic scrambled egg breakfasts, scones, bagels, pan-fried eggs, eggs Benedict, waffles to French toast. Most of them have vegetarian options, so you can enjoy it even if you don’t eat meat. Full! In addition to brunch, the Green Monster sandwich, which I had before, is also highly recommended. There are two floors in the store, with plenty of seats, and tableware and other items are self-service. There is also a special parent-child space downstairs, so you can bring your children to eat.
