Wenchang Pavilion, also known as Kuiguang Pavilion, is located in Kuiyang Park in the south of Huilai County, Jieyang City. County-level cultural relics protection unit.
The Wenchang Pavilion was built in the 33rd year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty (1605). In front of the pavilion, there are three entrances to the Hongwen Hall. The latter one is dedicated to Emperor Wenchang and is named Wenchang Temple. In the first month of Jiashen, the sixth year of Shunzhi in the Qing Dynasty (1649), Hongwentang suffered a fire. In the first month of Dingmao, the twenty-sixth year of Kangxi's reign (1687), the county magistrate Zhang Bingzheng built a pavilion and moved it from north to south. In the second year of Qianlong's reign (1737), the county magistrate Yang Zongbing built a three-story Wenchang Pavilion on the original ancestral site in front of the pavilion, which was named "Kuiguang Pavilion". Couple: "The huge waves are blowing and the wind is blowing, and the pearls and crystals are shining, and the golden turtles are playing in the sea. The great writer rides on the good fortune and sees the Yaoshu shining brightly and the jade wat rising to the sky." This pagoda is a Feng Shui pagoda, with masonry structure and rammed shell ash. It has three floors and octagonal eaves, with dense eaves and a height of 23 meters (some say 25 meters). There are stone pillar supports on each floor, railings on the outside, spiral staircases on the inside, and Bagua diagrams painted on the caisson. The second floor has four gates, east, west, north and south, and the third floor has the north and south gates. The north gate is engraved with the regular script "Chaofeng Lingyun" written by Zhou Shuoxun, the prefect of Chaozhou during the Qianlong period.
In 1979, Jieyang Huilai Wenchang Pagoda was announced as a county-level cultural relic protection unit.
In 2009, Jieyang Huilai Wenchang Pagoda was included in the fifth batch of cultural relics protection units in Jieyang City.
