He was born in a noble family and collected a large number of calligraphy books and famous paintings on ancient utensils. He has been well-read since he was a child. Since the Xia and Shang Dynasties, people in Zunyi, Zhong Ding have been able to distinguish between time and style. Good at poetry and prose, with the demeanor of Jin people. He is a close friend of Wang Anshi, Su Shi, Mi Fei and Huang Tingjian, and a guest of Wang Shen, Ma Xu. As for the attitude of action, stretching and admiring, good and evil, big and small, painting talent, respect and derogatory, salty, it will confuse secular painters. The distinction between high and low, fat red and thin black. Generally speaking, Gong Lin put the idea first and the decoration second. Li, Su Shi, Huang Tingjian, Mi Fei and others are all guests of the Wang Shen family. Their party at home is recorded in Li's "Garden in the West" (extant edition), and Mi Fei also wrote an article. A dozen of them are drinking, writing poems, writing and painting in the gardens of Wang Shen, and talking about Zen and Taoism. This is the first period of their friendship, before Su Shi was exiled and left the capital of song dynasty to become an official in Hangzhou. In the second year of Yuanfeng (AD 1079), Su Shi was in danger because of his poems, and Wang Shen was also implicated. It is said that Li covered his face with a fan when he met someone from the Su family in the street, so he was laughed at by people. Li, Su Shi and others made friends for the second time in the first year of Zhezong. At that time, Wang Anshi had passed away. Press: Lohan is known as Buddhism and Taoism, and later monks are also known as "flying in the tin" and "crossing the cup". It's strange and sad. Huang Chunyao's Li Long's sleep painting "Lohan Ji" is essentially a picture-based composition. As for the five arhats who didn't cross the river (one of them only saw his waist and feet because of poor paper), he also tried his best to describe their different attitudes: one was to cross the river unintentionally, the other was to wander and wait and see, the other was to write down the cheerful expression at the beginning of determination, and the other was to describe the cautious psychology before entering the water. The deliberate description of this group of characters is also to set off the difficulty of crossing the river.
The smugness of those who crossed the river is actually in contrast to the difficulty of crossing the river. The author's description of the inner spirit of the characters in Li Longmian's paintings is "absent-minded", which can be said to have won its essence.
Memorial site
Li's tomb is in Longmian Shuangxi, Tongcheng. Here, the tombs of the father and son of the Qing Dynasty and Zhang were pushed forward and regarded as a treasure trove of geomantic omen. Li Yusong retired to his hometown of Longmian in Tongcheng for three years due to illness, and died in Chongning for five years at the age of 57. There are such records in Di Jisheng, Qing Dynasty Unification Annals, Anhui Tongzhi and Shucheng County Annals.

Three people are friends. In three years (1 100), Li resigned due to illness and built Longmian Mountain Villa. Boy, it covers an area of 4000 square meters. After the villa was completed, Gong Lin painted according to the picture, and he drew 20 more pictures of Longmian villa, which was called "the treasure handed down from generation to generation" by Song history. Back in Longmian Mountain, Li no longer draws horses, but tigers, because there are tigers in the mountains, which can be observed, and there are springs in the mountains, which can be used with pens. He often "sits on a mountain stream and is carefree all day." But he never draws a tail when he draws a tiger. Why? It is said that as soon as the tail is painted, the tiger lives. Tigers hurt people, of course, they can't come back to life. Therefore, tigers in Gong Lin are all bald-tailed tigers.
In his later years, Li liked to draw Buddha statues in addition to tigers. It is said that on one occasion, Gong Lin stayed away from the crowd and stayed alone in the studio for a few days, drawing eighteen arhats. Among them, 17 is completed, and the 18 is only half finished. A painter barged in, and Gong's painting ideas were interrupted and he lost interest. Half arhats can't draw any more. But the family said that when Gong Lin painted arhats, eighteen arhats came to the villa, so he stayed in the studio laughing and modeling for Gong Lin. Someone came and Lohan suddenly disappeared, so he couldn't draw the last half. It's a good thing I didn't draw that half If I take out all 18, I may come back to life and fly away with Lohan.
Gong Lin paints pictures, the dead, the living, and many other interesting things. However, apart from painting, Gong Lin is actually a versatile and charming person. The History of Song Dynasty said that he was "knowledgeable in ancient times, good in poetry and knowledgeable in strange characters". It is also said that once, the court got a royal seal, and there are different opinions on textual research. Finally, Li decided to use it as the seal of the king of Qin, and verified that it was actually carved by Li Si, the prime minister of Qin.
Huang Tingjian commented on his friend like this: "The wind and moon are not less than the ancients, and painting is tired, but it has been passed down by art."
It should be enough to pass on art, and many of Gong Lin's paintings are still in the Palace Museum. Although villas in Gong Lin no longer exist, the word "Long Mian" is world-famous.
