Does anyone know how to apply for Beijing 2008 volunteers?

The recruitment of Olympic volunteers will start in August 2006 and the whole recruitment will last until April 2008. The recruitment methods are the combination of open recruitment and directional recruitment, the combination of collective registration and individual registration, and the combination of online registration and written registration. Targeted recruitment will begin in the second half of this year. According to the work progress, we will adopt a more convenient and humanized way to meet the participation and registration needs of all sectors of society.

The field of Olympic volunteer service is very extensive. Now it seems that there are about a dozen categories, such as concierge reception, language translation, transportation, security, medical and health care, media operation, commodity distribution, audience consultation and so on. Volunteers can be seen active in all aspects in all competition venues of the Olympic Games in China. The clients include members of the Olympic family, media reporters, sponsors, even some spectators and foreign tourists coming to Beijing.

There are no special requirements for volunteering. Everyone who wants to be a volunteer and make contributions to society, regardless of gender, age and age, has the opportunity to participate in this project. However, volunteers also have some basic conditions. First, by April 2008, they should be 18 years old. Second, they should abide by the laws and regulations of China. Third, we should have a certain foreign language foundation and be able to communicate in foreign languages. In some specific positions, we should have corresponding abilities and qualities.

Volunteers can be divided into ten categories: college students, middle school students, social volunteers, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan volunteers and international volunteers. According to the requirements of the post, professional volunteers and non-professional volunteers, according to the current research and forecast, account for roughly 50% each. Professional volunteers, such as media operations, medicine and health, need volunteers to have more professional knowledge.

The training of volunteers mainly includes general training, professional training and on-the-job training. General training is to let volunteers have basic knowledge such as Olympic common sense, national customs, traditional culture and etiquette norms. General training is mainly conducted through internet distance education and classroom face-to-face instruction. Professional training is mainly to train volunteers' relevant professional knowledge and skills, mainly face-to-face, organized and implemented by the Olympic Organizing Committee and designated training institutions. On-the-job training is to introduce the basic situation, work tasks and business processes of the post, which is generally carried out by various departments that use volunteers.

There are many aspects of training. In addition to the coordination group of Olympic volunteers, the municipal government and the Olympic Organizing Committee have jointly set up a training coordination group, which will be very effective in future work. Our training mainly relies on some specialized institutions to give full play to the advantages of Beijing's rich educational resources. There are many universities and educational institutions in Beijing, and these educational institutions will undertake some corresponding responsibilities and tasks. In addition, through our organizational system, they will have special training strength for training.

Olympic volunteers implement dual management. On the one hand, establish a perfect volunteer organization and management system including corps, brigade, squadron, detachment and working group; On the other hand, every Games-time volunteer will join a working group to serve in various functional departments of the Olympic Games, and the functional departments they serve will be responsible for the post management, attendance management, rotation management and evaluation management of volunteers.

The working conditions and treatment of volunteers follow some basic principles of voluntary service. During the Games-time, volunteers can take local buses for free and provide them with special clothes, catering and other necessary working conditions. At the same time, we also consider insuring volunteers. Volunteers from other places and overseas need to bear their own round-trip transportation and accommodation expenses in Beijing.
