What is a motorcycle made of?
Figure 1-2 motorcycle composition
(1) engine
The engine is the power source of the motorcycle, and the combustible mixture burns in the cylinder to convert thermal energy into mechanical energy, thus driving the motorcycle to run. There are four-stroke and two-stroke engines, as well as single-cylinder, multi-cylinder and V-type multi-cylinder engines. The performance and working condition of the engine directly affect the performance and working condition of the motorcycle. Engines are generally composed of "three major institutions" and "five major systems".
The "three major mechanisms" are: crank-connecting rod mechanism, body mechanism and valve train.
The "five systems" are: fuel supply system, intake and exhaust system, cooling system, lubrication system and ignition system.
Some motorcycles use exhaust gas turbocharging to increase air intake.
(2) Transmission system
The transmission system includes clutch, transmission and transmission device. The transmission system transmits the power of the engine to the rear wheel through certain changes, so that the rear wheel can obtain various speeds and forward forces suitable for different roads and loads.
(3) Drive system
The function of the running system is to make the motorcycle form a whole, support the quality of the whole vehicle and ensure the running of the motorcycle, convert the torque from the transmission system into the traction force to drive the motorcycle to run, and at the same time bear and transmit all kinds of reaction forces on the wheels of the road, so that the motorcycle can run smoothly on different roads and ensure safety.
The drive system mainly includes frame assembly, tailstock, front fork assembly, rear suspension assembly, front and rear wheel assemblies and other components.
(4) control the braking system
The function of operating the braking system is to directly control the driving direction, driving speed, lighting and signals. , to ensure driving safety. It includes a steering handle control assembly and a brake assembly.
General manual shift control handle, clutch handle, light and electric horn control switch are installed on the left handle, and throttle knob and front wheel brake handle are installed on the right handle. The foot control gear lever is installed on the left pedal, and the rear wheel braking is controlled by the right brake pedal.
(5) Electrical system
The function of the electrical part is to start the engine, ignite the mixture, send out sound signals, light and illuminate, etc. The electrical part generally includes power supply system, ignition system, lighting system and instrument signal system. The motorcycle with electric start also includes an electric start system. With the development of science and technology, new technologies are constantly adopted in motorcycle electrical system, such as electronic fuel injection system, electronically controlled anti-lock braking device (ABS system), engine exhaust control circuit, electric bracket and so on.
The function of the instrument is to indicate the vehicle speed, mileage, engine speed and charging current. The motorcycle's electrical equipment and instruments are connected together by cables running through the whole vehicle, corresponding control switches and various connectors, which constitute the motorcycle's electrical equipment system.
When driving a motorcycle, the driver's limbs are divided into four parts: the left hand is responsible for clutching the lever, controlling the ignition advance device, honking the horn, changing the light, etc. The right hand is responsible for turning the throttle handle and manipulating the front brake handle; The left foot is responsible for shifting gears; The right foot is responsible for controlling the rear brake.
