What is the origin of Elephant Trunk Mountain in Guilin?
At the top of Elephant Trunk Hill, there is a Lama-style solid brick tower-Pu Xian Tower, which was built in the early Ming Dynasty. From a distance, it looks like an Aquarius on the elephant's back and a hilt inserted on the elephant's back, so it is also called Aquarius Tower and Hilt Tower. There is a touching legend about the Elephant Trunk Mountain and the sword handle tower. In ancient times, this statue came to Guilin with the Jade Emperor's southern tour and was seriously ill and abandoned. The local people cured it, and it returned, so it stayed on the earth to farm and work for people. When the Jade Emperor learned that he had been recalled to the palace many times, he swore that he would die, and the heavenly soldiers would take him from the underworld. He fought fiercely for days, covered in injuries. Seeing that violence could not make him yield, the Jade Emperor lied about a truce, and while he was drinking the river, he sent a heavenly sword into his back. The statue became a huge stone and remained on the Lijiang River forever. The hilt on its back still exists.
