What's the old saying that it thunders in spring?

As the saying goes, "much cry and little rain, ten cowsheds and nine empty ones", the meaning is very simple:

Before and after the thunderstorm in spring, the cowshed at home was empty in nine cases out of ten. When we say thunder and spring, we don't mean that it thundered that day in beginning of spring, but that it thundered for ten days around beginning of spring. Of course, China has a vast territory, and the climate in different regions is quite different. This proverb mainly applies to the north. In the south, it is normal for beginning of spring to thunder.

Considering the climate of China in the past few years, it is not normal to thunder and spring. According to the 24 solar terms in China, the time of spring thunder appeared before and after the fright, and it thundered too early in beginning of spring. Surprise means that spring thunder begins to sound, insects begin to move, spring officially kicks off, and cows in the field will start farming. Beginning of spring was shocked on February 3rd, May 9th, March 5th and September 9th. If it thunders in early spring, it will be a whole month earlier than normal.

The connection between Zaolei and the empty cowshed is agriculture. Because it thundered early, crops were reduced, and people sold cattle to supplement their families.
