What is the function of Zhu Qian Temple in Kunming?
The bamboo temple in Kunming prays for efficacy. Zhu Qian Temple is very quiet, and many Kunming locals will drive here to relax, pray and count arhats on weekends. Located on Yu 'an Mountain in the western suburb of Kunming, Yunnan Province, it is 12km away from the urban area. It is the first temple where Zen Buddhism was introduced into Yunnan from China. Bamboo Temple was built in Tang and Song Dynasties. It was rebuilt twice during the Qianlong period of Qing Dynasty and Guangxu period. There are 500 arhats in the bamboo temple, 68 on the two walls of the main hall, 265,438+06 on the Tiantai Laige and 265,438+06 on the Fanyin Pavilion. It took seven years (1883- 1890) for Li Guangxiu, a clay sculptor from Sichuan in the Qing Dynasty, and five assistants to complete it. In the corner of the Hall of Ursa Major, there is an imperial edict built in the Yuan Dynasty for three years. Its content was named "Toutuo" by Xuanjian, the abbot of the temple, and was protected by officials, soldiers and people, and given to Sanzang.
