2. Introduction-
(1) The Lotus Flower Sutra says: "If you have the heart, you can burn your head and fingers to hold the stupa, which is better than the wife of the national city ..."
So in the history of Buddhism in China, there are many examples of burning bodies, arms, fingers and bodies:
In modern times, there was an eight-fingered Buddhist monk. At the age of 27, he worshipped Buddha in Ashoka Temple, gouged out arm meat as big as a few dollars, poured oil on the middle-burned Buddha, and then burned two fingers of his left hand to offer Buddha. In Vietnam, Guangde set himself on fire; In Taiwan Province Province, there was also a mage who burned a finger ... self-immolation and self-injury became a great "merit" of Buddhism. ② The Original Wishing Sutra of the Tibetan Bodhisattva says: "When you hear the name of a Bodhisattva, you should respect it, or honour it, or name it, or offer it, or even paint a sculpture, which means that people should return for thirty-three days and never go astray."
That is to say, as long as the name of the Bodhisattva is hidden in one thought, all the sufferings will be removed, and great benefits will be obtained, and you can still be born of Nirvana. Once upon a time, Buddhists in Hinayana era suffered a lot, but they were not sure that they could get the "road to nirvana". Now, as long as they talk loudly and remain anonymous, they can not only get all the happiness before their death, but also enter nirvana after their death. As for the "truth of Tao" mentioned by Sakyamuni, it was completely thrown into the sea of Wang Yang. 3 Hua Yanjing said: "... go to the mountain to throw fire, and tell Shancai that if you can go to the mountain to throw fire, you can achieve a pure bodhisattva." Even the cruel means used by the king, such as "breaking hands and feet", "cutting ears and plucking eyes", are also "compassionate" means to "save all beings" and "free all beings".
