In the summer of 556 AD, Liang and Northern Qi had a life-or-death battle at Mufu Mountain. As a result, Liang's general Chen Baxian defeated the Northern Qi's southern invading army and saved Liang. The Liang monarch transferred the throne to Chen Baxian, and a new dynasty emerged in Nanjing.

However, the emperor who had the deepest connection with this place was Zhu Yuanzhang, who even gave the place name Yaoshang Village that is still retained today.

It is said that he came to Mufu Mountain many times. In order to build the city wall, Zhu Yuanzhang recruited migrant workers from 13 provinces to burn kilns here. The bricks burned in the kilns here were of the best quality and the migrant workers worked very hard. He was very happy after seeing it. He was so happy that he immediately rewarded the government servants with silver and wine.

Taking advantage of the emperor's happiness, a migrant worker representative knelt down and appealed to the emperor. There was no place name here and he could not communicate with his family. He asked the emperor to give him a name for the village.

Zhu Yuanzhang felt that what he said made sense, so he said that this was a high-quality kiln factory, so let’s call it Yaoshang Village.
