Introduction to Lin Xiumei

Lin Xiumei (1880-1921), named Zukun, also known as Yufan and Liuliu Jushi. He was born into a scholarly family in Liangshuijing Village, 10 kilometers north of the city of Anfu County (now Linli County, Changde City, Hunan Province). Great-grandfather Lin Changhuai served successively as county magistrate and magistrate of Xuyong Zhili Office, but his family fell into decline. Father Qin's heart is not focused on fame, but teaching in his hometown. Xiumei was industrious and frugal since she was a child. She entered school at the age of 8. By the age of 23, she studied in Anfu Daoshui Academy and Lizhou Qinshan Temple New School. In the twenty-seventh year of Guangxu's reign (1901), he took part in the state examination and was "the first doctoral student".

In 1903, he was admitted to the Changsha Army Arms Academy and served as the artillery battalion commander of the Hunan New Army after graduation. Entered the Japanese Army Sergeant School in 1906. He successively joined the Tongmenghui and the Chinese Revolutionary Party led by Sun Yat-sen, and carried out long-term revolutionary struggles against the Qing Dynasty and the Beiyang warlords. He has successively served as chief of staff of the Hunan General Headquarters of the National Defense Army, brigade commander of the Hunan Army, acting envoy of Lingling Town, lieutenant general commander of the second column of the Hunan Army, commander-in-chief of the Jingguo Army in Western Hunan, advisor to the Guangzhou Military Government, senator of the National Assembly, and President Sun Yat-sen Government acting military commander and other positions.
