Where is Xinxing Academy?

Xinxing Academy is a cultural relic protection unit in Jiangxi Province.

Xinxing Academy was founded in the first year of Xianping in the Northern Song Dynasty (AD 998). It is the earliest academy in Luling (the ancient name of Ji 'an City) and opened in Shuangjing Village Mirror. Due to the reputation of the Academy, students from other counties flocked to study, and Liu Ling, a student from Yongxin, also studied here when he was a teenager. Later, in the heyday of the Northern Song Dynasty (1030) and (the second place), in the Huang You period (1053), the academy moved to the ancestral temple in Shi Peng due to the increase of students, and the "emerging academy" was full of talents. During the Republic of China, Peng Shuxin, member of the Kuomintang Central Committee and secretary of the Shanghai Party branch, also came from this.

Due to the increase of students, the academy moved into Chengde Hall, the ancestral hall of Peng family. In the second year of Yuan Dynasty (1296), Peng's descendants rebuilt and expanded the ancestral hall, and renamed it "Chengdetang". This ancestral hall is 60 meters long and 0/2 meters wide, covering an area of 720 square meters. Poems, words, songs, flowers, birds, fish and animals on the arch of the temple advocate the harmony between man and nature and inspire people to forge ahead. For hundreds of years, the seven "pin"-shaped wind pools in front of the ancestral hall of Chengde Hall have entrusted the villagers' ideals of respecting culture and being an official, which are widely loved by everyone. Although it is located at the head of the village and has a wide field of vision, it belongs to a place with good feng shui, but no one has ever had the idea of plugging the building, and it has been well preserved so far. There is a lush "Fengshui Forest" near the pond, with evergreen Itsuki Midoriba such as Cooper, Cinnamomum camphora, Podocarpus and Metasequoia. There are 100 ancient camphor trees behind the ancestral hall, among which the "king of ancient camphor trees" has a circumference of 7.8 meters, and there are many ancient nanmu, gulian and Castanopsis carlesii. A large number of historical relics and monuments highlight the civilized concept of Shuangjing, an ancient village, advocating culture, being grateful and being kind to the ecological environment.

In addition, in order to advocate respecting teachers and emphasizing education, and to carry forward the spirit of Chongwen, the Xi Tower was built in Jiaqing period of Qing Dynasty (1820). This tower is made of blue bricks, with a large bottom and seven floors on six sides. The top of the tower is cylindrical, about 8 meters high, shrinking layer by layer, with a unique appearance. Now it is a provincial-level protected cultural relic.
