The origin of the place name Three Trees: Before the late Qing Dynasty, the Taiping area was mostly swamps and meadows. The Gou River flows from southwest to northeast, and the Ash River flows from southeast to northwest into the Songhua River from the east and west sides of the area. On the banks of these two rivers, there are dense wicker bushes everywhere.
On the south bank of the river (today's Harbin Plastic Factory No. 5 site), a yellow sand hillock naturally formed, looking like an earth dragon lying on the earth from west to east. On this mound, there are three elm trees with lush branches and leaves, each of which is three arms thick.
These three trees look like three pillars when viewed up close, and look like three umbrella covers when viewed from a distance, which is very spectacular. In 1744, the Han Lu family settled here, and then 3 to 4 more families came here to open up wasteland, gradually forming a small settlement. People named these three old elm trees as the name of the village - Three Trees. Tun.

In 1929, three old elm trees were blown down by strong winds. At that time, no one dared to touch them for fear of damaging the feng shui of the area. Legend has it that these three old elm trees grew on the bodies of "dragons" and were the incarnations of "gods".
In 1932, the Japanese invaders began to build a railway station in this area and named it after Three Trees. Since then, the place name Three Trees has become famous throughout the country.
