Relics protection in Mutasi Heritage Park
Integration with environmental creation
Mutasi Heritage Park is positioned as a modern Chinese garden with heritage protection properties, and ground buildings are strictly controlled in terms of heritage protection measures. The area 5 meters away from the ruins is a key protection area, and a tourist isolation area is set up 1 meter away from the ruins; according to the Shaanxi Provincial Institute of Ancient Architecture's "Opinions on the Protection of the Underground Palace Excavation in the East Square of the Muta Temple Ruins Park", The excavated underground palace ruins are displayed, while other ruins are protected by backfilling.
Reflect the essence of traditional culture while taking into account the regional characteristics of the high-tech zone. The main body of the park is based on traditional gardens, with many contemporary modern elements added, ultimately forming the core concept of modern temple gardens. The park as a whole takes "big green" as its core, and takes the protection of heritage sites, utilization of existing resources and "nourishing the heart with springs, stone bamboo trees" as its guiding ideology. Expand and enrich the greening to form the design concept of "flowers in three seasons and evergreen in all seasons".
The overall layout of the park is based on two axes and is supplemented by two areas. The two axes are the east-west cultural protection axis and the north-south historical development axis. The two areas are the cedar forest area in the north entrance square and the lake view garden area.
The park is under construction. A large number of magnolia varieties have been planted along the north-south historical development axis to form a distinctive magnolia forest belt. "To see cherry blossoms, go to Qinglong Temple, and to see magnolias, visit Muta Temple." Mirrored pools and landscape bridges connecting the east and west were added to the north and south sides of the Shanmen site. A large 4-meter-high white marble lotus sculpture was designed on it and the lotus platform on the south side formed the historical Zhuangyan Temple's "stepping to protect the thousand-leaf lotus and ringing its own bell." artistic conception.
The east-west cultural protection axis starts from the east entrance square. A 4-meter-high white marble dragon-shaped seal is set up at the east end of the axis to highlight the noble status of Muta Temple as a royal temple and strengthen the park. cultural and artistic connotations. On the basis of the original wooden tower ruins, a tower building foundation of about 2 meters high and a one-story wooden tower structure were restored and constructed, symbolically showing the magnificence of wooden tower architecture at that time. The tower base is treated in the form of falling water to enrich the landscape space and form an interaction with tourists. On the ground on the west axis, three-dimensional greening is used in the form of projection to form the plane shape of the tower, allowing visitors to experience the new meaning of tradition in modern society while visiting.
In the western section of the East-West Cultural Protection Axis, there are six large calligraphy reliefs with poems written by famous poets from the Tang Dynasty describing the wooden pagoda temple, creating a strong cultural and artistic atmosphere. At the west end of the axis, a 4-meter-high stone sculpture with the theme of "Tasha", a traditional architectural element, is set up, echoing the wooden tower architectural structure at the east end of the axis, interpreting the ancient scene with modern elements.
In the square area at the north entrance of the park, large-sized cedars are densely planted to form a cedar forest covering an area of 11,000 square meters, so as to achieve the effect of ancient pines blocking the sun and making the landscape full of green. At the same time, the architectural element in the north square - the "pavement" shape - is a combination of stone carving art and park nameplate, integrating abstraction and realism, highlighting the characteristics of modern Tang style. At the same time, a motor vehicle parking lot was added to the west side of the North Square to facilitate unified management and form a diversion of people and vehicles.
The lake view garden area is centered on the lake surface of about 5,000 square meters, forming a landscape effect in which the garden is alive with the lake and the lake is spiritual with the garden. A large number of old willow trees with a sense of historical vicissitudes have been planted in the lake scenic area to reflect the nostalgia for the history of Muta Temple. A solid wood structure corridor was built on the west bank of the lake to provide tourists with a place to enjoy the beautiful scenery and enjoy water entertainment.

Striving to create a national construction model
During the construction process of Mutasi Heritage Park, the scenic area project consists of heritage protection, demolition of old buildings, and ground leveling It consists of several aspects such as water and electricity concealment, lake excavation, greening projects and art facilities. In terms of site protection, based on the Xi'an Municipal Cultural Relics Bureau's general survey of cultural relics in the park and the excavation of rammed walls from the Tang Dynasty, underground palaces from the Song Dynasty and other relics, we have carried out protection plans for the existing Shanmen ruins and side hall ruins, and plan to implement protection in the next stage. .
In terms of greening, since there are many kinds of trees and shrubs in the park, during the greening construction, the original greening resources should be fully protected and utilized. At the same time, a large number of trees and shrubs should be planted densely according to local conditions to form groups of large green shade trees, embellished with characteristic small scenes. New Chinese style greening. Functionally, it provides shade and shade to build a better space under the trees, and in terms of landscape, it opens up and closes to form a colorful greening effect. Culturally, it is embellished with elements from the Tang Dynasty, implying the vitality of the thousand-year-old temple and the breadth and depth of China's excellent traditional culture. From the perspective of artwork, it interprets the new concepts of Buddhist culture and poetry, calligraphy, and sculpture.
In the construction of Muta Temple Heritage Park, all aspects were coordinated and unified, creating a first-class scenic spot, striving to be a national construction model, and overcoming various difficulties to complete the project on schedule.
Based on the overall planning and construction deployment of Xi'an City, the overall planning and construction plan of the High-tech Zone, and the characteristics of Mutasi Ecological Heritage Park itself, the park construction plan proposes the construction of "overall design and planning, divided implementation and construction" ideas. That is, taking the planned urban road to Tangyan Road in the west as the boundary, the site is divided into northern and southern areas. The northern area is the land area for the first phase of construction, and the southern area is the land area for the second phase of construction. And combined with the overall plan, a "two-step" implementation plan was proposed.
