Changning county is located in the west of Yunnan province. 1933, founded by Baoshan Yongchang and Shunning Fengqing, took the county name after the two place names and belonged to Baoshan City. The terrain gradually decreases from northwest to southeast, from high to low, forming a landform state in which mountains and valleys alternate from north to south, with the highest elevation of 2875.9 meters and the lowest elevation of 608 meters.
