Grafting method of Chinese rose
1, grafting time
Grafting Chinese rose, you need to choose the right time first. Rose likes to grow in a warm environment and is not heat-tolerant. Therefore, according to its growth habits, grafting is most suitable from August to September every year. At this time, its vitality is vigorous, and the survival rate after grafting will be greatly improved.
Step 2 Prepare for work
Usually, Rosa multiflora is used as the rootstock for grafting. The rootstock needs to be strong and disease-free, and then we need to flatten it along the base of the rootstock. The grafted Rosa davurica branches need to be of the same year and well-developed types. After cutting off the branches from the mother plant, cut off the leaves at the bottom and grind the incision into a ring shape.
3, grafting maintenance
Cut the rootstock into a small hole, and then insert the branches of the Chinese rose. After that, it needs to be wrapped tightly with plastic film, and finally it needs to be cured in a semi-cool place. During this period, the joint should not be damp, otherwise it will rot easily and the incision will heal in about half a month.
Growth habit of Chinese rose
Rose has strong adaptability, cold tolerance and drought tolerance. Although the climate and soil requirements are not strict, it is more suitable to use loose, fertile, organic-rich, slightly acidic and well-drained micro-strip acidic sandy loam. Sexually, I prefer a warm, sunny and ventilated environment and a warm and humid climate. Generally, 22~25℃ is the most suitable temperature for flower growth.
The optimum temperature of most varieties is 15-26℃ in the daytime and 10- 15℃ at night. In winter, when the temperature is lower than 5℃, it goes into hibernation. Some varieties can tolerate low temperature of-15℃ and high temperature of 35℃; When the temperature keeps above 30℃ in summer, plants enter a semi-dormant state and grow poorly. Although it can bear buds, it has few petals and dull color, which loses its ornamental value.
