Where is Kunming’s Guangyin Mountain?
Hello, this is Guanyin Mountain in South Kunming. Guanyin Mountain is located in the middle of the west bank of Dianchi Lake, 34 kilometers away from the urban area of Kunming, Yunnan. Walking 16 kilometers south from the foot of Xishan Mountain, you will see a sea of people on the mountain. The solitary peak is abrupt, like a piece of writing, and also like a giant turtle, with its mouth wide open, threatening to swallow all the water of Dianchi Lake. The west bank of Dianchi Lake is full of collapsed rocks, with steep cliff edges and abrupt cliffs. The cliffs are empty and look like turtle heads, so they can be called "turtle mountains". There are two largest ones, one is at the foot of Taihua Mountain, and the other is Guanyin Mountain.
Folk legend has it that when a Guanyin Temple was built in Kunyang on the south bank of Dianchi Lake in Kunming, Yunnan, a bronze statue of Guanyin was cast in Kunming and transported back to Kunyang via the Dianchi Lake waterway in Kunming, Yunnan. When the boat got here, it encountered strong winds and waves and could not move forward, so it docked the boat. Three days later, the weather was calm and I was about to start again, but the storm started again and I had to stop again. If it goes like this, the waves will rise, and if it stops, the waves will become flat. If it lasts for half a month, it will not be able to move. People say that this is a sign from the sky, and that Guanyin Bodhisattva wants to stay in this geomantic treasure land. The magistrate of Kunyang County in Kunming, Yunnan carefully inspected this place and found that Putuo was indeed a scenic spot, so he moved the bronze statue of Guanyin up the mountain and built a temple to worship it. This mountain is called Guanyin Mountain, also known as Xiaonanhai and Putuo Mountain. To get to Guanyin Mountain, you can take bus No. 33 at Xiaoximen Bus Station or Liangjiahe Bus Station. The fare is 7 yuan. You can also take the Haikou minibus opposite Liangjiahe Station.
