What does the Spark Club do?
The Spark Teaching Group was formerly the Nanjing Youth Association’s teaching and assistance project team for the disabled. In March 2015, it became an independent teaching club. It teaches with professionalism and does public welfare with heart. The Xinghuo Teaching Group currently has two regular activities: "Zhixing" urban teaching and summer teaching. Among them, the summer volunteer teaching locations are in Henan, Yunnan, Anhui, Guizhou, and Hainan. The selection will be carried out in the school in the early stage to form a supporting teaching team.
Each teaching team is committed to public welfare activities to help the poor, to a certain extent alleviate the shortage of teachers in remote areas, assist in the development of compulsory education teaching and research activities, and at the same time bring fresh information of the times to children , spread positive energy. In addition, in 2018, the Xinghuo Support Teaching Group also expanded urban support teaching to nursing home assistance activities, recruited volunteers on campus, and carried out many activities to spread the volunteer spirit and advocate pure public welfare concepts, thereby passing on the Nanshen Support Education. Inherit love and hope.
The following large-scale activities have been held:
1. On October 21, 2017, a ceramics charity event was held outside the school in conjunction with the Nanjing Blue and White Porcelain Ceramics Center. Nanshen students completed their works under the guidance of teachers from the Ceramic Art Center and deeply understood the essence of making pottery.
2. A winter coat donation event was held in November 2017. Through the cooperation of all parties, publicity and explanation, the unused winter coats of primary school students in residents’ homes were collected to provide warmth to primary school students in poverty-stricken areas who do not have enough food and clothing. and calls on more people to contribute.
3. In 2018, long-term nursing home assistance activities will be held. Every Saturday afternoon, two volunteers will go to the nursing home to chat, walk, play chess, etc. with the elderly. At the same time, they will also help the staff of the nursing home to do some labor within their capabilities.
