What month is the summer of 2023?
Generally speaking, as long as it is in the long summer, it will officially enter the summer. Long summer is the seventh of the twenty-four solar terms, and it is held every year from May 5th to 6th in the Gregorian calendar. At this time, the bucket handle of the Big Dipper points to the southeast, and the longitude of the sun reaches 45. "Summer" in long summer means "big", and "long summer" means that plants sown in spring have grown upright at this time.
But from the climate point of view, before and after the long summer, only the area south of Nanling really entered the summer, and the northwest and northeast regions just entered the spring. In Guangxi, which is located in the south of China, people are also accustomed to regard the long summer as a solar term with rising temperature, coming of intense heat, heavy and wide rainfall and frequent strong convective weather. In this solar term, crops enter a vigorous growth period.
Dog days are the hottest time of the year for three main reasons:
1. From summer to the future, although the direct point of the sun moves south and the daytime time is gradually shortened, the heat radiated by the sun to the ground is still greater than that radiated by the ground to the air, and the heat on the ground will increase day by day, and the heat absorbed by the ground will accumulate to the maximum during the dog days.
In dog days, the southeast wind mainly blows from the Pacific Ocean. The sea breeze in dog days causes high humidity, while the specific heat capacity of water is large, and humid air can absorb a lot of heat, so it often feels stuffy in dog days.
3. During the dog days, most parts of China are controlled by subtropical high, which is beneficial to the warming of sunlight and ground radiation, which is also the main reason for the hot weather during the dog days.
