What's the date of May 22nd, 2022?
The United Nations General Assembly adopted resolution 55/20 1 on February 20th, 2000, and declared May 22nd of each year as "International Biodiversity Day" to enhance the understanding and awareness of biodiversity issues.
This day is designated as the International Day to celebrate the agreed text of the resolution on the Convention on Biological Diversity adopted by the Nairobi Conference on May 22nd.
Impact of International Biodiversity Day:
On June 24th, 2005, a five-day international conference on biodiversity was held in Paris, France, with the theme of "Biodiversity, Science and Management". In addition, UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan addressed the meeting at the opening ceremony, calling on countries that have not yet ratified the Convention on Biological Diversity and its protocols to do so as soon as possible.
