Yiyi park north temple tower

The North Temple Tower is an important symbol of Suzhou. It is located in Renmin Road, the center of the old city. Renmin Road, running from north to south, runs through the whole old Suzhou. Suzhou people have special feelings for this people's road.

When I was a child, most rural children had no chance to travel because of inconvenient transportation and financial difficulties. After work, I have time and money to meet the possibility of traveling. My first impression of Suzhou is that the long-distance bus passes through baodai bridge, and the bus line 1 or10/passes through Renmin Road, as well as the Guanqian Street, the Mystery Temple and the North Temple Tower on that postcard, which are all the places I must go to Suzhou.

The North Temple Tower has taken root in my heart unconsciously, but the word North Temple Tower, just looking at the literal temple tower, can't arouse the interest of sightseeing, so that I haven't seen it at close range for decades.

On the seventh day, the couple went to Zhuo Zhengyuan. According to mobile navigation, the nearest subway station to the scenic spot is Beisi Tower Station. Of course, you will see the North Temple Tower when you come out.

I told my husband that this ancient pagoda must be visited.

Du Niang said that the North Temple, also known as Hongji Temple, is the oldest temple in Suzhou history and the largest Buddhist jungle in Suzhou, with a history of 1700 years.

Stepping into Hongzhi, besides the towering North Temple Tower, there are Maitreya Buddha and Wei Tuo Bodhisattva in front of the tower. They are actually open-air and greet every visitor with a smile.

The North Temple Tower hidden among ancient trees is a typical brick-wood tower. It was built in the Southern Liang Dynasty and rebuilt in the 23rd year of Shaoxing in the Southern Song Dynasty. After many repairs, the pagoda is octagonal and nine-story, with double eaves and huge scale, which is the same type of building as the Pagoda of Six Harmonies in Hangzhou. The tower is 76 meters high and is the tallest tower in the south of the Yangtze River.

On this day, the North Temple Tower is closed, so tourists can't climb it. They can only turn around the tower base clockwise and worship in front of the kind Guanyin Bodhisattva.

There is Nanmu guanyin temple on the east side of the North Temple Tower, which was rebuilt in the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty. It is one of the most complete ancient buildings in Suzhou.

There is a long corridor in the south of Kannonji, which displays the largest and huge Qi Diao's "The Picture of Prosperity" in China, also known as "The Picture of Prosperity in Gusu". The picture is 32 meters long and 2 meters high, which reproduces the prosperity of Suzhou, the "prosperous time of Qianlong" in the Qing Dynasty. Because the picture area is large, it is spread out like a long scroll. I enjoyed it while walking, but forgot to take pictures.

Behind the North Temple Tower is a rare stone carving "Zhang Shicheng Jigong Monument" in Yuan Dynasty, which is said to be a gift from Shen Wansan.

There is a small courtyard behind Kannonji, also called Meiyuan, with pavilions, small bridges and flowing water, pines and cypresses, and various kinds of plum blossoms, which are in bud at this stage.

When the couple left the North Temple Tower, I told my husband that we had always ignored the existence of the North Temple Tower and thought it was just a tower. Actually, it's very interesting. Go in this time, I'm glad you came!

Mr. Wang agreed.

Subjective assumptions are unreliable, and seeing is believing. This is the same as buying clothes and tasting delicious food. You don't know if it looks good until you try it on yourself. You won't know if it's delicious until you taste it yourself.
