(1) Brief Introduction of Jiulianfang and Zhong Yi

Dear friends, the mountain you see now is called "Wangfeng". According to legend, the reading hall of Zhao Lu, the first scholar in Jiangxi history, was built on its lower lawn. Perhaps its name "Wang Feng" comes from this. Now let's turn our eyes to that distant village, which is called "Xie Ping" village, and there is a smaller village called "Jiulianfang". It is said that Yi Zhong, the second champion of Jiangxi, was born here. What's even more amazing is that this small mountain village, from the middle and late Tang Dynasty to the Northern Song Dynasty, took nine Jinshi in less than 200 years, hence the name "Jiulianfang". According to the local elders, Jiulianfang Village is surrounded by nine ridges of Jiu Feng, and the whole village seems to be located among nine lotus flowers, just like nine fine horses rushing to the village, just fulfilling Mr. Feng Shui's theory of "nine lotus flowers" and "nine horses belong to Cao". Yi Zhong, the top scholar, was born in this land of mountains and rivers.

There are many allusions about him. Today, I want to take this opportunity to tell you two folklores about Yi Chong:

Let me tell you a story about "borrowing kui". What does "borrow the chief" mean? Listen to me slowly: According to legend, during the Huichang period of the Tang Dynasty, there was a talented person Yichun in Jiangxi, as well as Zhao Lu, Yi Zhong, Huang Po, Li Qian and Lu Shou. They are all old friends. At that time, due to the limited number of places admitted to the Korean exam, there were only a few porridge, and only one champion could be produced in each exam. Yi attaches importance to integrity and courage, and confidently puts forward: "Fang will have an exam tomorrow, and then we will gather in Yichun." We are all competing with each other, so it is better to do it in stages. " In the second year of Huichang, Juzi went to Beijing to take the exam, but Yi Zhong voluntarily gave up and sent Zhao Lu and others west to Chang 'an. The following spring, Zhao Lu won the first prize in high school and returned to his hometown. Yan Yingyuan, the secretariat of Yuanzhou, invited state and county officials and rural celebrities to get together and hold a banquet to celebrate. When I was seated, everyone pushed Zhao Lu, the top scholar, as the chief. Zhao Lu said: "I won the championship this time because Yi Zhong proposed to take the exam in stages, and Yi Zhong is old and should be given to Yi Zhong as the chief." This is the words of Zhao Lu Qianxun. I didn't expect Yi Zhong to be so rude, but he sat proudly on the chief and said humorously, "Today, a banquet was held in my hometown. The chief was supposed to be the champion, and the champion was chosen for me. I would rather be respectful than obedient, so I borrowed an officer and will definitely pay it back next time. " When the words came out, I was shocked. Who knows that the next spring, Zhong Yi really won the first prize, and the joke of "chief" and "borrowing the prize" became a reality, and it has since become a beautiful talk circulating in the streets.

In fact, there is a more interesting story about Yi Zhong. This is-"Chonggui Emperor". It is said that in the spring of the fifth year of Tang Huichang, Yi Zhong ranked first and second in the Beijing national examination, and Zhang Juan ranked first. However, as soon as the list of empires came out, there was a lot of discussion in the ruling and opposition parties. Many students have played it, saying that this exam can't be counted and they have to repeat it. So the emperor and does a second interview, the emperor personally out of the question, personally invigilate. After re-examination, Yi Zhong was awarded the title of No.1 scholar by the emperor and the plaque of "Jinshi Ji" by Yu Bi. Up to now, this plaque is still hanging in Yi Zhong Memorial Hall in Jiulianfang, Wentang. Yi Zhong was deeply moved at that time, and immediately wrote a poem, two of which were: "If the immortals in my hometown ask each other, I will climb two branches in one spring." In the past, the scholar's exam was called "folding laurels", and the last sentence of this poem "climbing two branches in one spring" means "double laurels", which means that the scholar takes the exam twice a year. Later, in order to commemorate Yichong, Yichun people named a street in Yichun with the last word in the poem "Chonggui". Therefore, the residence of Yi surname people in Yichun is called "Gui Di", claiming to be descendants of Gui.
