Zhao Dongyu's anti-Japanese deeds under the leadership of Feng Yuxiang

Zhao (1898- 1937) is a native of Zhaolou Village, Duzhuang Township, Heze County, Shandong Province.

1On July 7, 937, the Lugouqiao Incident broke out. Song, the commander of 29 army, appointed Zhao as the commander of Nanyuan Army, and together with Tong, the deputy commander, commanded all the troops of Nanyuan Army.

On July 26th, 1937, Zhao Fengjun was ordered by Song to rush to Nanyuan to take charge of Beiping defense. He fought a bloody battle with the Japanese army for six hours. Unfortunately, he was ambushed by the Japanese army and hit in the chest during the rally. He died heroically at the age of 39.
