Asian regional qualifiers: the top 40 groups have ended. The top two in the group advanced to Asia 12. The former 12 teams are divided into two groups, with 6 teams in each group. The top two directly advanced to the World Cup in Russia, and the third place in the two groups played two rounds of play-offs at home and away. The winner played the home and away play-offs with the fourth player from Central and North America and the Caribbean as the fifth player in Asia, and finally the winner advanced to the World Cup in Russia.

European qualifiers (13 places+host Russia): 52 countries in Europe will be divided into 9 groups, of which 7 groups are composed of 6 teams and the other 2 groups are composed of 5 teams. The qualifying rule is that the first of the nine teams will advance directly to the Russian World Cup finals, the second of the eight teams with the best performance will play off, and the four winners of the two rounds will advance to the finals, while Europe * * * has 13 qualifying places. The European preliminaries will be held from September 4th to June 1 6, and the first round of play-offs will be held from September 9th to June 17.
