Jingci Temple, located on the south bank of West Lake in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, opposite Leifeng Tower, is one of the four ancient temples in the history of West Lake and one of the famous temples in China. Because the bells in the temple are ringing, "Nanping Night Bell" has become one of the "Ten Scenes of West Lake". The temple is located at the foot of Huiri Peak in Nanping Mountain, Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province. It was built by Hong Qian of Wu Yueguo in the Five Dynasties in 954 for the monk Yongming, formerly known as Yongming Temple. Jingci Temple was renamed in the Southern Song Dynasty, and there are 500 arhat halls.
Jingci Temple was destroyed and rebuilt. Temples, gates, bell towers, back halls, ancient wooden wells and Jigong Hall were all rebuilt in the 1980s. The Mahatma Hall has a single-story double eaves and yellow glazed tiles, which is even more solemn. In particular, a new bronze bell, weighing 100 kilograms, has the number "Lotus Sutra of Wonderful Method" inscribed by Zhao Puchu and others, with a total of 68,000 words. Every evening, melodious bells are empty in the twilight of the West Lake, arousing people's infinite reverie.
