How to timing a 4-cylinder diesel engine?

Align the ignition timing, the piston of the first cylinder is in working condition when it is at compression top dead center, adjust the intake and exhaust of the first cylinder, the second cylinder and the third cylinder, then rotate the crankshaft to confirm that the piston of the fourth cylinder is at compression top dead center and in working condition, and then adjust the intake and exhaust of the fourth cylinder, the third cylinder and the second cylinder.

Because the cylinder block is often turned upside down during assembly, the vertices of the two cams of the first cylinder should be horizontal when viewed from the top. This is because under normal circumstances, the included angle between the intake cam and the exhaust cam of the same cylinder is about 1 10 ~ 120.

After maintaining the above position, reinstall the transmission gear, so that the camshaft gear and transmission gear, transmission gear and crankshaft gear are in meshing state, thus ensuring the accuracy of valve timing. Considering the need of future maintenance, it should also be in the position where the gear engages with the tooth end. Mark the appropriate mark with a punch.

Matters needing attention of four-cylinder diesel engine

Be careful not to throttle too hard, especially after starting, especially in winter. You should accelerate slowly and gradually increase the engine speed after walking for a period of time. When going uphill, you should first increase the speed to a certain speed before entering the uphill section, but avoid being too high. When climbing hard, the throttle will be reduced and slowed down appropriately, so that better climbing effect can be achieved.

The principle is to avoid the smoke of the machine, and exert proper force under the inertia of the car to obtain the best power. It costs money to step on the gas pedal to "break through" this hurdle!
