I am going to work in Washington, USA for 3 months in August. What kind of clothes should I bring because of the weather in Washington from August to October?
I am in the eastern United States, not far from Washington.
The weather here is: August and September, it is still summer. October is a little cooler.
I wonder what kind of work you will do? If you are coming as a visiting scholar or working in an American company, (you are a man, right?)
You can prepare as follows:
Bring multiple shirts and ties Two items. Two or three pairs of suit pants (no need for high-end ones, preferably washable ones, cheesecloth ones will do). Because of American habits, shirts must be changed every day and pants can be worn for a week. If you have the opportunity to attend a formal meeting, you can bring a dark suit (black or navy blue, etc.).
In addition, bring a few pure cotton T-shirts; a jersey, two or so pairs of jeans, and a pair of denim shorts. These you can wear on your weekend outings.
Ask me if you have any questions.
