Introduction of Xiangshan Temple

The three peaks of Xiangshan Mountain are abrupt, arranged in sequence, shaped like a pen and straight into the sky, so it is also called Sanshi Mountain. The rock is gravel mixed with river pebbles, with an average elevation of 14 15m. In the Qing Dynasty, "Rebuilding the Inscription of Xiangshan Temple" praised: "Three peaks are green, and Wei Huan shoots clouds; Blue is delicate and hidden in the group. "

There is a natural stone cave halfway up the mountain in Xiangshan, called Qifeng Cave, which is the main cave in Xiangshan. The cave is dedicated to "Buddha with thousands of hands and eyes", also known as Xiangshan Bodhisattva, which is the center of Buddhist worship. According to relevant historical records, the construction of Xiangshan Temple began in Kuqin (AD 35 1-394) and flourished in Yao and Qin Dynasties. Kumarajiva, a monk who once received Qiuci, translated Sanskrit here. During Song Yongxi's reign (984-987 AD), the Qifeng Cave in Zhongfeng was built, and the sacred orchard and Baique Temple were built. During the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty, more than 90 pavilions of various buildings were built. Xiangshan Forest Park was established in February 1992, with an operating area of 7o55 hectares and an altitude of 1097- 1542 meters. The whole park is divided into four scenic spots: Daxiangshan, Jiulongzhai, Butterfly Valley and Xiaoxiangshan.

Xiangshan is one of the eight famous Buddhist mountains in China. There are big Xiangshan and small Xiangshan in the park, such as twin sisters, and the peaks are beautiful; Kowloon Taihe Skyfire Castle stands tall like an iron wall. Zhenggou and An Zi Gully have deep and narrow valleys with winding paths leading to secluded places; Camel Peak and Black Dragon Ridge have strange shapes. There are also scenic spots such as Tang Wangbao and Longquan Cave. The peaks, ridges, castles, valleys, rivers and caves in the park form a magnificent picture of natural landscape. Its eight scenic spots are: Chaoyang Fairy Cave, Black Dragon Mountain, Daozhong, Pine and cypress, Taibai, Zhu Chao, Jiulong Military Camp and Hanging Rock Waterfall.
