Six years later, what's the situation of this Beijing boy who graduated from the Department of Architecture in Tsinghua and returned to his hometown to work as a farmer?
It is such a small farm with only more than 30 mu of land, which actually includes planting, breeding, catering, accommodation, entertainment and other projects. Children are not tired of playing here for a day, and adults are not tired of staying for ten and a half months. They eat organic vegetarian dishes every day and don't pay attention to samples. And every year, many groups, institutions and individual travelers come to experience the rural life of "Xanadu".
Six years ago, the farm advocated Wenjing to bring organic vegetables home to customers every day. Halfway through, she was complained by customers that the leaves were dry and stale. In fact, this is one of the differences between organic vegetables and vegetables using pesticides, but customers who are used to eating vegetables with pesticide residues can't accept it for a while.
This has caused great problems to the operation of the farm, which has been in a state of being difficult to make profits since it opened. Until 20 13, an excavator drove into the farm and buried all the chickens alive, and the whole farm became barren.
Later, after reasoning, Zhang Wenjing sold his two suites and continued to run the farm. She also called Zhang Wenhe, her younger brother who graduated from the Department of Architecture in Tsinghua, back to work together.
In this way, 20 14, an authentic Beijing boy, Zhang Wenhe, graduated from the Department of Architecture in Tsinghua, returned to the suburbs of Beijing to farm.
Since Zhang Wenhe was born in Tsinghua University and graduated from architecture and Chinese, his return directly re-planned this farm about 4.5 kilometers outside the Sixth Ring Road in Changping District, Beijing, and named it "Sansheng". He designed three themes: Four Seasons B&B, Solar Term Workshop and Enzyme Farm.
On the basis of respecting the existence of these natural attributes, Zhang Wenhe put the original leisure into practice, without archaizing or deliberately seeking novelty.
It has 9 houses, redesigned and renovated into Four Seasons B&B, which can accommodate 36 people. Each room has a courtyard, which is a small garden in a big garden.
The concept of solar term workshop is to make urban people more willing to understand farming and integrate into the countryside more freely.
Transparent, elegant and fresh restaurant for 100 people; Shops that pay attention to healthy eating and guide the concept of vegetarianism; There are also conference rooms, libraries and children's rooms.
China Kitchen integrates the culture of 24 solar terms in a year into the diet, and provides healthy food according to the demand of solar terms.
The pastoral life museum is used to display and sell all kinds of organic ingredients and daily necessities selected by the farm.
The whole solar term workshop covers an area of more than 500 square meters, which meets the desire of people of all ages to enjoy life.
Enzyme farm garden is an important theme of everything. In addition to maintaining the farm's history of not using chemical fertilizers and pesticides for more than ten years, Zhang Wenhe is also committed to restoring the complete chain of self-circulation, promoting environmental education and a lighter and healthier lifestyle.
If a virtuous cycle of agriculture is established, farm garbage will not be transported out to pollute the environment. In order to reduce land pollution and improve the ecological environment of the park, chemical fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides are not used in the park. They use the manure produced by their own livestock to ferment to form fertilizer, so that the nutrition of waste food can be fermented back to the land, and the self-made enzymes can be used to make kitchen waste compost, and the activity of microbial flora adapted to this land can be restored through fermentation, thus realizing the self-circulation of the ecosystem.
Zhang Wenhe said: "In this manor, I try to grasp the boundaries between architecture and nature, wilderness and urban parks, resorts and picking gardens, and build a natural farm like a paradise."
However, you may not imagine that this farm, which covers an area of more than 30 mu, could be described as "terrible" six years ago: inferior tiles, thick dust and dilapidated cement roads.
However, after several years of development, Sansheng Wanwu Farm has taken on a new look. The only area of 30 mu actually includes planting, breeding, catering, accommodation, entertainment and other projects, so that children are not tired of playing here for one day, adults are not tired of living for ten and a half days, and eating organic vegetarian dishes every day is different.
In the past, they needed to get up early every day to pick vegetables and deliver them to customers. Nowadays, many groups, institutions and individual travelers come to experience the idyllic life of "Xanadu" every year.
Farming has always been regarded as hard work facing the loess and facing the sky, which also makes many young people flinch from returning to their hometowns to farm. In fact, what rural agriculture needs is technology, and what it needs is young people with knowledge like Zhang Wenhe. Only by combining science and technology with knowledge can agriculture embark on a new road. His agricultural view has a good reference for people engaged in agriculture.
