Mihe was renamed several times in history. It was called Jushui in the Zhou and Qin Dynasties, Shui Yang in the Western Han Dynasty, Juyun Water in the Eastern Han Dynasty, Juyangshui in the Three Kingdoms, Tanshui in the Northern Song Dynasty, Ershui in the Jin Dynasty (Qushui in Linqu), Juyangshui in the Yuan Dynasty (Hull in Linqu) and Mihe in the Qing Dynasty. Its mainstream originates from Tianqi Bay in Yishan and runs through Qingzhou County from south to north. The river twists and turns, first to the west, then to the northeast, and twists and turns. The folklore "Mihe has nine bends and eighteen bends" is also called "Linqu to Jiusan, Mihe has nine crossings".
