National AAAAA-level tourist attractions, namely 5A-level scenic spots, are scenic spots divided by China people. * * It is divided into five levels, from high to low, namely AAAAA, AAAA, AAA, AA and A.

5A is the highest-level tourist attraction in China, representing the level of world-class tourist attractions in China.

On May 22, 2007, the National Tourism Administration issued a notice on its official website. After the on-site acceptance by the evaluation team appointed by the National Tourism Scenic Spot Quality Rating Committee, the National Tourism Scenic Spot Quality Rating Committee deliberated and passed, and decided to approve 66 scenic spots such as Beijing Palace Museum as national 5A-level tourist attractions. The number of pilot units for the establishment of 5A-level scenic spots recommended by the provincial scenic spot assessment agencies to the National Tourism Administration within the prescribed time limit reached 106. In the final evaluation, 66 of them became national AAAAA-level scenic spots.

As of August 20 16, China National Tourism Administration has delisted three 5A-level scenic spots that are seriously substandard, namely Shanhaiguan Scenic Spot in Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province (resumed on 20 18), Juzizhou Scenic Spot in Changsha City, Hunan Province (resumed on 20 17) and Shenlongxia Scenic Spot in Nanchuan District, Chongqing City.

The National Tourism Administration will establish a 5A-level scenic spot database and compile it into scientific tourist routes, brochures, CDs, etc. Through the platform of the National Tourism Administration and its overseas institutions, we will publicize and promote products at home and abroad, and organize a tour of 5A-level tourist attractions in China.

It can be said that whoever owns the 5A gold-lettered signboard will have more domestic and foreign tourists' market share, making it have both social benefits and direct economic benefits, and changing the previous phenomenon of only "creating" social benefits without direct economic benefits.
