When was the Great Cold in 2023?
Great cold refers to extremely cold weather. Although the winter solstice solar terms are the lowest in the northern hemisphere, the coldest time of the year is the slight cold and great cold solar terms after the winter solstice solar terms, especially the great cold solar terms.
This is because after the solar term of winter solstice, the direct sunlight point will gradually move northward, but for a period of time, the direct sunlight point will always be in the southern hemisphere, and the heat in the northern hemisphere will always be lost, and the heat absorbed during the day is still less than the heat released at night.
Therefore, after the winter solstice, the temperature in the northern hemisphere continues to decrease, and the temperature drops to the lowest during the great cold solar term, which is the coldest solar term in a year. Because China has a vast territory and a large span between the north and the south, the climate between the north and the south is quite different.
Recovery time after a severe cold:
The great cold is the coldest period in a year, and it is also in the "April 9" stage of counting nine. This is a folk method to calculate the dates of cold days and spring blossoms.
In other words, from the date of winter solstice, every nine days are counted as "nine days", and so on. From September to September, the weather will gradually warm up, so it will be cold for about a month and a half after the great cold. However, the figure of nine is only applicable to areas where the temperature changes obviously from winter to around, and a few areas may not be accurate.
