16 personality test (some people still believe in 16 personality test)
Text | Esther
Perhaps the era is a reincarnation. Ten years ago, twelve constellations were popular on social media. Ten years later, sixteen MBTI frequently appeared in interpersonal circles.
When people at the foot of the Internet picked up their mobile phones, turned on social software and swiped casually, they suddenly found that the combination of "four letters" on the screen became a new encryption trend: Why did this friend's social data say that he was "INTP"? Why I can't understand the "ENFP" meme sent by that friend; What the hell are INFJ people? Is it a new type of Chinese abbreviation network buzzword? Why did the netizen leave a message "ESTP people come to play with me"; Douban team even has MBTI contempt chain!
Nowadays, MBTI, an exotic product that was once only popular in the subculture and small circle after 00, is becoming another social code after the zodiac and constellation, and is deeply loved by young people. Its popularity can even make me conclude without exaggeration that half of meme this year is contributed by people who believe in mbti.
MBTI(Myers-BriggsType Indicator), also known as sixteen personality tests, is based on the eight types classified by Jung, and expanded to form four dimensions: extroversion/introversion, sensibility/rationality, reality/intuition and judgment/perception, and finally summed up as 16 personality traits.
MBTI seems fashionable in recent social media, but it was actually introduced to China as early as 15 or even longer. Do you still remember the professional personality test you took in elementary school, junior high school or senior high school a long time ago? This is MBTI, which was originally invented to pay attention to future career planning and see what career you are suitable for. Just as the word "emo" deteriorated in the context of Weibo, the original retro MBTI entered the social circle of young people in China, and it also set off a "scientific magic stick"-like return. MBTI in social context is no longer an ordinary personality test, but a "label" hanging on a person's forehead. Everyone calls each other "tags", and MBTI has become an online traffic password.
When MBTI was just on fire, I also participated enthusiastically. After a few pages of questionnaire questions were finished, the result was INFJ, an elder advocate. Then draw it and analyze INFJ:
"The rarest personality in the world"
-Am I still a first-class protected waste?
"Quiet and mysterious, inspiring and tireless idealist"
-idealist, I agree, the reality is very skinny, but still daydream!
"I care about other people's feelings and hope that others will treat me in the same way."
-This is me! That's me! That's me!
Meimei enjoyed a page of praise, so I spread the test link widely to see what special people my relatives and friends are. Friend a test: coincidentally, I am also INFJ, worthy of being us; Friend b test: you are also an INFJ person, both of whom are INFJ people; Friend c finally found out that it was different, and only one letter was different, INFP. I was very happy to reply: Great, we are very similar, and we are worthy of being INF people! And I silently said: What's the matter? What about rare species in the world? Why am I surrounded by INFJ people?
In the final analysis, MBTI's fire is the "regression" of personality test and social style. First, it is to meet the needs of self-deconstruction. After all, Socrates said: it is human nature to know yourself and analyze yourself; Second, in order to meet the needs of group belonging, it can sometimes be used as a social means. Otherwise, everyone is discussing who they are, and when you don't understand, you have to hold back a sentence "Uh, I'm fine". What MBTI is more advanced than the twelve constellations is that its understanding threshold is low, and the scale problem is now compressed and then compressed, which is easy to be understood by the public; But it is more complicated than the constellation, and it looks more scientific and real. Wearing a high-end coat of science and a low understanding threshold, personality tests are naturally stronger than outdated astrological skills. Even Gu Ailing said in an interview: I am INTJ!
But is MBTI really credible? Whether it is credible or not, after all, it has passed the reliability test, that is, the reliability and validity are quite general, and the validity is good according to the level of the paper, just a little. But in essence, MBTI is mainly used for career planning, using MBTI to have fun and entertain life. Of course you are welcome. Life needs to be sweeter. However, there is no need to take MBTI as the standard of interpersonal communication, as the reference element of the contempt chain of interpersonal relationship, or even as the solidified label of knowing yourself or others. This is not only an offence to others, but also an excuse to be lazy. People are complex, and the understanding and communication between people is a wonderful and deepening process. A person's self and personality are not only concentrated on the simple four letters, but are reflected in every word he says, everything he does and every decision he makes.
Living is a process of questioning yourself repeatedly. MBTI may be able to point out your personality characteristics and give some reference to your career planning, but it is not the threshold of communication, let alone your shackles. Just like every ending of the game depends on your choice, how you live, who you want to meet, who you want to love and who you want to miss, it won't be because of MBTI, but depends on your choice.
"INFJ is not suitable for work?"
Come on, who is born to work?
"How can I walk into a dead end so easily, INFJ? I hate INFJ. "
-everyone is easily stuck in the middle. I can't figure out the math problem, but I also drill. If I ask, I can't do it without drilling.
"Will INFJ and INFP get along very tired?"
-Who are you tired of hanging out with? I won't know until I get along with them. First of all, respect others and respect yourself. You are not a simple four letters.
No one is nobler than others, only diversity and tolerance for diversity. If you have a friend who is very keen on MBTI, take MBTI as the criterion and the test result as the life index, please tell him generously, confidently and frankly: Thank you, I don't need MBTI, and I am fully responsible for my eccentric personality and bad behavior.
