Where is the open-air stone carving art museum?
Longmen Grottoes is not only a diversified and all-encompassing art treasure house integrating sculpture, calligraphy, painting, literature, music, humanities, religion, architecture and medicine, but also has the reputation of "the largest open-air stone carving art museum in China".
Longmen was dug by Dayu when he was controlling water, and the legend of fish jumping over Longmen also happened here. Its grottoes began to be excavated during the reign of Emperor Xiaowen of the Northern Wei Dynasty, flourished in the Tang Dynasty and finally ended in the late Qing Dynasty. After 10 dynasties and 1400 years of construction, it became the longest grotto in the world. A lot of paint is used in the building, but many of it has faded.
Densely distributed on the cliffs of the east and west mountains of Yishui, with a length of 1km from north to south, there are 2345 existing grottoes and more than 1 1000 statues, which are called the three largest grottoes in China together with Mogao Grottoes and Yungang Grottoes, and then the four largest grottoes together with Maijishan Grottoes. ?
Longmen Grottoes are the only royal grottoes in the world, and most of them were built by royal nobles. After the news that Wu Zetian carved the Buddha statue of Lushena according to her appearance and manners and built a paradise in Luoyang Palace reached Japan, Emperor Shengwu made a vow to build Dongda Temple in Nara. In addition, Emperor Xiaowen carved the Guyang Cave for Feng Taihou, the Sun Yu Wanfo Cave for the Warrior Lan Ling, the Binyang South Cave for Lee Tae's eldest grandson, the Jingshan Temple for Wei Guifei, and the Infinite Life Buddha for Tang Xuanzong Gao Lishi.

It has also experienced the construction of Tianzhu, Silla, Tuhuoluo, Guo Kang and other countries, and discovered European patterns and ancient Greek stone pillars, making it the highest level of internationalization in the world.
