Textual research on Luo surname
According to Records of the Historian, Luo, who grew up in Jiangsu and Zhejiang a long time ago, is a descendant of Gou Jian, the King of Yue in the Spring and Autumn Period. At that time, Yue was a native of Shao Kang who was revived more than 4,000 years ago. It can be inferred that the Luo family in the south should be a familiar descendant. From the cultural relics unearthed from Liangzhu culture, it can be seen that Liangzhu people are descendants of Luo Yue. The surname "Luo" is the surname of Luo Yue's descendants.
However, some people think that Luo's surname first appeared in Shandong, and then gradually spread to all parts of the south of the Yangtze River. The Tang Dynasty's work Compilation of Surnames holds this view. The book examines the origin of Luo's surname in this way: "Jiang's stepson Luo, who takes Wang's father's word as his surname, must take it."
During the Spring and Autumn Period, Qi once claimed to be a vassal, which was built by Jiang Ziya, a descendant of the ancient Yan Emperor Shennong. Roche was born in Qi, and their family history is even longer.
Luo's fame in history began at the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, when the world was in chaos. Anyone familiar with The Romance of The Three Kingdoms knows that after Dong Zhuo's autocratic power, Yuan Shao and Yuan Shu's brothers led the best situation. On one occasion, Yuan Shu's army was hungry. Once, it went to ask for food, but Luo Jun sternly refused. Yuan Shu was ashamed and angry, so he sent someone to assassinate Luo Jun. This incident made Yuan Shu ashamed for ages, but Luo's name began to be known.
The first famous Luo Jun in history was from Wucheng, Zhejiang. He is famous for his civil and military talents. Later, when he became a senior official of Chen Liuxiang, he defended his country and became famous in one fell swoop under the joint efforts of thieves. It's a pity to die in Yuan Shu's plot, which makes people feel sorry.
Following the talent of Luo, a great writer in the early Tang Dynasty, Luo's performance since then is also remarkable. For example, Luo Wensheng, a native of Wukang in Ming Dynasty, was praised as a scholar during Jiajing period. Later, he disdained interacting with the right of way, so he died halfway up the mountain, and his footprint was not as good as that of the city, which was sincerely admired by everyone. Luo, a native of Yinxian County, Zhejiang Province, was a patriotic scholar who failed in the uprising after the national subjugation. Later, I stayed in Dumen for more than 30 years, which is admirable. Luo, a native of Lin 'an, Zhejiang Province in the early Qing Dynasty, was a famous and good official. He first enlightened the government, made timely decisions, founded academies, and personally led the gentry to attend classes in the north, setting a good example for future generations. Luo, the governor of Hunan during the Daoguang period, was even more famous. He assisted Zeng Guofan after the revival of Taiping Army, and his deeds of training and raising salary, defending the enemy and appeasing the people, and making peace with Shi Dakai have long been well known.
"Yizhoushu Wang Huipian" says that "passers-by are great bamboos". The book notes: "The sound of the road is loud". There is also Luo's name in Historical Records, and later there are records about Luo Yue in Hanshu and Houhanshu. According to historical records. "The Biography of the Captain of South Vietnam" said: "Therefore, we will attack the border with soldiers. The property stays in Fujian and Yue, and Xi 'ou Luoyue belongs to Yan ... Its number in Dongmin is thousands, which is called the king: its West Ou Luoyue country is also called the king. " The word "Luo" first appeared in the history books, and was interpreted as a surname ..... The word "Luo" means field and bird in Zhuang language. Zhuang language refers to the foothills and areas, collectively known as Liu. Liu Heluo's voice is very close. Zhuang people had no characters in ancient times, so recording sounds in Chinese characters is often inaccurate, and some distortions will inevitably occur. Therefore, Luotian is the "six fields", that is, the fields between the foothills ... "(from Huang Xianfan's General History of Zhuang Nationality)
