Malaysia’s climate environment
Malaysia is located in the equatorial zone between 1 and 7 degrees north latitude and is a tropical country. When people mention the equator, they will think that it is extremely hot there, but this is not the case. Although Malaysia is located on the equator, because it is a low-latitude maritime country, its climate is deeply influenced by the ocean, forming a unique tropical rainforest climate with no four seasons. It is hot and rainy all year round, with extremely small temperature differences and high relative humidity. The temperature in Malaysia changes very little throughout the year. The average night temperature is above 21°C, and the average daytime temperature is around 32°C. The daily temperature difference is about 7°C, and the annual temperature difference is only about 1°C. This climate has brought great benefits to local residents. There are many advantages: it makes dressing easier, as long as you have summer clothes, and there is no need to buy cumbersome four-season clothes. This also greatly facilitates people traveling to Malaysia, so that their luggage can be greatly reduced. In addition, Malaysia has high humidity, with an average humidity of 80%.
Although Malaysia has summer-like weather all year round, the temperature is lower in the peaks of the mountains. The average monthly temperature in some mountainous areas is even around 15°C, creating many cool and pleasant places to escape the heat. Among them, Genting Highlands, located in the middle of the Kebao Mountains and 50 kilometers northeast of the capital Kuala Lumpur, is a famous tourist summer resort. It is 2,000 meters above sea level. From a distance, the clouds and mist in the mountains are misty. The top of the mountain is often surrounded and shrouded by clouds and mist, appearing and disappearing. It's like Penglai Wonderland, but also like a mirage. Calling this place "Yunding" really deserves its name.
Along the flat and curved winding mountain road, with endless green and dense forests on both sides, drive to the top of the mountain, and large clouds and mist will float from time to time in front of your eyes and above your head. It feels like flying in the clouds. On a clear day, the view from the top of the clouds is extremely broad. To the west, you can see the brightly lit night view of Kuala Lumpur, and to the east, you can see the morning sea of clouds, overlapping mountains, and vast forests. The air is exceptionally fresh and cool, and there are large-scale modern entertainment and dining facilities on the mountain, offering a wide range of food, drink, and entertainment. It is a good place to escape the summer heat and relax. In addition, Cameron Highlands in Pahang is the largest forest resort in Peninsular Malaysia. The climate here is cool and clean, which is particularly suitable for growing various vegetables and flowers. There are many types of vegetables here, such as cabbage, tomatoes, green peppers, lettuce, taro, radishes, etc. The vegetables needed by the Malay Peninsula and Singapore are mainly supplied here. It is rich in all kinds of flowers and is famous throughout Malaysia.
The entire territory of Malaysia has abundant rainfall throughout the year. The average annual rainfall in West Malaysia is 2,000 to 3,000 mm, while in East Malaysia it is more, above 3,000 mm. The amount of rainfall is mainly affected by the monsoon. From May to September every year, due to the influence of the warm and humid southwest monsoon blowing from the Indian Ocean and Java Sea, there is less rainfall. Sometimes it does not rain once a week and the temperature is high. Among them, June and July are the months with the least rainfall. During the season from October to February and March of the following year, affected by the cold northeast monsoon blowing from the east of the Asian continent, a rainy season is formed with heavy rainfall, with the highest rainfall from October to December.
The rainy season in Malaysia is also quite unique. It rains almost every day, and it almost always rains in the afternoon, as if a timer has been set between heaven and earth. The rain here can be called a heavy rain. It comes quickly and violently and ends quickly. There is rarely a continuous drizzle. Heavy rain is often accompanied by earth-shattering thunder, which is a unique natural landscape in Malaysia. Extremely bright lightnings come one after another, and thunder explodes one after another. Sometimes there can be dozens in a row. Whenever there is thunder, it seems that The sky is moving and the earth is shaking. The arrival of the rainy season makes the weather cooler.
