What's the difference between showers, small showers, short showers and thunderstorms?

Shower, small shower, short shower and thunderstorm are all terms to describe weather phenomena. The following are their respective characteristics:

1. Shower: Shower refers to rain with short duration, sudden coming and going, and great variation of precipitation intensity. Usually, the raindrops in showers are large and the intensity changes dramatically. The sky is usually dark, sometimes it will clear up suddenly, and it will be sunny for a short time, sometimes accompanied by thunder.

2. Small showers: Compared with large showers, small showers have relatively small precipitation intensity and short duration. Its raindrops are about the same size as showers, but their intensity and duration will weaken.

3. Short-term showers: Short-term showers refer to precipitation that occurs in a short time, usually lasting for a short time, usually between 1-2 hours. This kind of precipitation is usually not strong and raindrops are small, but it may also cause floods in some areas.

4. Thundershower: Thundershower is a special kind of shower, accompanied by lightning when it rains. The precipitation intensity of thunderstorm is usually large, which comes suddenly, goes quickly and is difficult to predict.

To sum up, these four weather phenomena are different in precipitation, precipitation intensity, duration and accompanying phenomena. In daily life, we should take corresponding preventive measures according to different weather conditions.
