Leshan Giant Buddha is located in Leshan City, Sichuan Province, at the confluence of Minjiang River, Qingyi River and Dadu River, facing Leshan City across the river. Leshan Giant Buddha is carved and chiseled on the rock wall at the confluence of Minjiang River, Qingyi River and Dadu River. It is also called Lingyun Giant Buddha and is a statue of Maitreya Buddha. Leshan Giant Buddha is one of the fine works of art in the Moyan statue in the Tang Dynasty, and it is the largest stone statue of Maitreya Buddha in the world. The giant Buddha's posture of sitting with his hands on his knees is solemn, with hidden drainage facilities and ingenious design. The Buddha statue was carved in the early kaiyuan year of Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty (AD 713). It was initiated by the monk Haitong to reduce the water potential and help all living beings. After Haitong's death, Haitong's disciples took over the construction. It lasted 9 years until it was completed in the 19th year of Zhenyuan in Tang Dezong (AD 83). It is praised by the poet as "a mountain is a Buddha, and a Buddha is a mountain". Giant buddha consists of Lingyun Mountain, Mahaoyan Tomb, Wuyou Mountain and giant reclining Buddha landscape, covering an area of about 8 square kilometers. The scenic spot belongs to Emei Mountain Scenic Area, which is a national 4A-level scenic spot and a famous scenic resort. In ancient times, there was a saying that "Emei in the upper court and Lingyun in the lower court".

Leshan enjoys convenient transportation, and has now formed a transportation network connected by railways, highways, waterways and aviation.
Railway: chengdu-kunming railway runs through five counties, cities and districts, including Jiajiang, Emei Mountain, Shawan, Ebian and Jinkouhe. You can get off at Emei Mountain Station on Chengdu-Kunming Line when traveling to Leshan and Emei Mountain by train, which is 1 kilometers away from the gate of Emei Mountain Scenic Area (Baoguo Temple) and 31 kilometers away from Leshan city center.
Highway: It's only 162km from Chengdu to Leshan by expressway. There are regular buses at North Gate, West Gate and Xinnanmen Station in Chengdu, and there are coaches in various travel agencies. Leshan and Emei Mountain are 31 kilometers apart, and there is an expressway connecting them. There is a bus every 1 minutes. In addition to Chengdu and Emei Mountain, Leshan also has passenger dedicated lines to Chongqing, Neijiang, Zigong, Yibin and Ya 'an expressways. There are high-grade highways from the downtown area to the nearby counties.
