Thoughts on reading marathon

I signed up for the reading marathon held by the school as I wished-I finished reading a book within the specified time and answered the corresponding questions. The reason why it is called marathon is a great challenge in terms of time, brain power and physical strength. I've never finished reading a book in a few hours before. My original intention of participating in this activity is just to read, not to compete.

Draw lots, sit down, present a book, I have never heard of a book-"threesome", so a few minutes before the start of the activity, I used my mobile phone to browse the author and introduction of this book:

There is not much introduction about the book itself.

When I learned this information, I found that the book in front of me was a completely strange field to me, that is to say, it didn't arouse my interest in reading at all, but if I was not interested in activities, I had to read it.

About the first 50 pages mainly talk about the main life of a generation of painter Xu Beihong. I still have some respect for such a person who has made outstanding contributions to modern art in China, so I read this part carefully and then briefly describe the main deeds of other painters. As for which painters I wrote, I only remember one or two. After reading about half of it, I'm not interested in watching it again. There seems to be no gain except knowing the difficulties of the painter's fame and achievement. So I looked through the catalogue to see which topic attracted me to read those articles. I answered the questions in a hurry and left. 13 o'clock.

From this perspective, reading should be interest-driven, and it is a waste of time to stick to what you don't like. Of course, professional books are another matter.
