Will banyan leaves fall in winter? How to treat it?

Next, continue to talk about the maintenance of Ficus virens. It's winter. A flower friend asked, will Ficus microcarpa lose its leaves in winter? Here, you can tell the flower friends that under normal circumstances, Ficus microcarpa does not shed leaves in winter. Ficus virescens is mainly distributed in southern China, which is evergreen all year round and does not shed leaves in winter.

There is a flower friend, who is located in the north. In winter, the temperature is low, and the golden leaf banyan leaves. This phenomenon is not normal. Fortunately, the branches are not dead yet, the weather is getting warmer, and they may sprout again. Unfortunately, the whole plant died before the weather got warmer.

The correct wintering of Ficus microcarpa should be that the minimum temperature is not lower than 15℃, pay attention to water control, and place it in the sunny and leeward places. If the ambient temperature is relatively low, you can also cover the banyan tree with a larger plastic bag, which can increase the temperature appropriately. In Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai, although it is not so cold in winter, the situation is not optimistic. In winter, Ficus microcarpa must be watered less, basked in the sun more, and keep the temperature and light as much as possible.

Propagation method of Ficus virens;

1, cutting: when cutting Ficus virens, select 1 ~ 2-year-old branches, cut them at a distance of 20 ~ 30 cm from the soil surface of the basin, cut the strips into 3 ~ 4 stem segments as cuttings, leave one leaf for each cutting, and cut off 2/3 ~ 3/4 leaves to reduce water evaporation. First, soak the cut wound in water or contact the wound with plant ash to prevent the juice from flowing out. Insert the cuttings into the bed made of river sand or perlite, and pay attention to keep the temperature of the sowing bed and the surrounding high air humidity. It can take root for about a month at 25 ~ 30℃.

2. High pressure: The high pressure propagation of Ficus virens can be carried out from April to August. Select the semi-lignified top branch of the mother plant, leave 3-4 leaves on the upper part, peel the lower part into rings or cut it into tongues, then wrap it with moss and wrap it with plastic film. It can take root in about 40 days. When it grows to about 30 cm, it can be picked and planted, or put in a flowerpot.
